true love?

You saw museums in me
When I could only see empty hallways.
You looked at me like I was a work of art
When I felt like I was scrap.

You gaze at me with so much love,
Like you can never get enough of me.
When I only looked at myself in the mirror
Feeling hopeless, helpless and worthless.

You listened to me like my voice was music,
And my thoughts were your favorite lyrics.
When I thought my feelings were invalid.

You stood strong like a tall cliff
When the waves of my agony hit against you.
You are suffering too,
Yet you choose to help me heal
Even though you know that I can hurt you in the process.

You are impatient to the entire world,
But you are the most tolerant with me
Even when I feel that no one has to carry my burden.

If this is not love,
I will never know what it is.
