So it's back to square one,
the way it was before February.
No talking, avoiding eye contact,
no endless conversations over text,
no helping each other through everything,
no blushing on seeing each other,
no more sorting out things like adults.Our friendship was in crisis,
and now it's too late to save it.
So I'll fake a smile,
and pretend like everything's fine
to hide the broken heart under my skin.Now we're back to where it started,
we're strangers once again.
We had some residual love left,
but it's over now.
