i watched you

I would watch you.
I would watch you from the corner of my eye,
Your eyes reminding me of the blue sky.
As the day passed by,
It would remind me that it'll soon be time to say, "Goodbye."

I would watch you.
I would watch you focusing during class
As a thought would pass in my mind-
"Would he break our heart like glass?"
"Maybe...No."

I would watch you.
I would watch you being content in my company,
Laughing at what I said,
And your smile making me dead.

I would watch you.
I would watch you enjoying the fragrance of your bittersweet drink,
With her by your side.
And my heart would sink.
"He's just my friend. It shouldn't bother me so much," is what I think.
But it brings out my sadness as a tide.

I would watch you.
I would watch you with her,
As her dimples become deeper with every word you spoke.
I wouldn't know what to do
So I just stand and watch
As I keep feeling, "Why am I not already dead?"
