Chapter 9 - Retentive savior

The machine was beeping like this since he came here. As the doctor said if it makes sounds then it means her heart is beating, if it doesn't then a doctor should be called. He was sitting next to her.

Room was really small, bule-white walls with a some medicine herbs hung over. There was only one bed with Dae on it, and two chairs. Man was sitting in one of them. Sunrays were breaking through big, glass window. Light air was fluttering delicate, blue curtains with dandelions on it.

Then, Dae opened her eyes for the first time. Sun blinded her quickly so she closed them.

"Dae? You awake?" a familiar warm man voice spoke to her

She opened her eyes again, her view was blurry at first. She turned her head in direction where she heard a sound of man's voice.

He moved his chair closer to her bed, her view became more clear now

"Yunho?..." she said weakly but as soon as she discovered it was actually him, she got more energy "Yunho!" Dae shouted and then sat with help of her hands, man smiled while looking at her

"Hey, how's it been?" he was looking at her with affection

"I- um... well. Not that bad. What about you?" she leaned closer "Was my duel canceled because of you?"

"Maybe" he chuckled "Was it a week? Since we saw each other." he looked down and grabbed her hand in both of his hands "Sorry it took me so long to prove your innocence"

"You're kidding right?" she looked at him with fake sorrow "You! Jeong Yunho saved my life again. You are literally the best and I don't even know what I can offer you in return" she smiled widely

"Ah don't mention this, you are my closest friend and that's what matters for me" he said after slightly blushing "Prince let me stay with you for today"

"That's nice of him. Wait you met the prince? THIS prince?" she opened her eyes wider

"Yes! He's really nice guy and he seemed to care about you" he straightened himself

"Care about me? How?" she smirked in meaning of gossip

"Not only you are exempt from capital punishment and imprisonment but you can also stay in the castle until you recover fully."

"WHAT?!" she shouted but then started whispering "I thought we were in prison's nurse or something. You should've told me sooner that we are, umm, here" she pouted her lips

"I think they fell really bad about what happened to you. You know this whole, ... thing"

They both giggled, Dae at the situations and Yunho at Dae confusion. Yunho rested his back on the chair, girl on the bed did the same.

"Were you doing something interesting when I was here?" she looked blankly at him, thinking about how happy she feels when he's next

"I was trying to solve how to get you out of this situation" he giggled and looked down on the floor "This wasn't easy, the real murderer was, umm... refractory. But strength and justice prevailed"

"What do you mean? Did you beat him up or something?" she said almost choking

"Well... I didn't plan it at first, but I couldn't come to an agreement with him, sooo~ I had to do what was necessary. What will allow me to get you back" still holding her hand, he began to caress it with his thumb

"I would say cute but beating someone up isn't really cute" 

"Hey! You were the one who had a duel, so don't judge me" Yunho acted like he was angry
