After I leave Walmart, I head to the check out and then I go to my car and I drive home. When I get home I walk inside and I put the groceries in the kitchen.
"Hey mom" I say
"Hey baby, how was your day?" She asks
"It was good, how was yours?" I ask her
"Amazing, me and Charles went house hunting" She says
"HOUSE HUNTING!?" I say confused
"Not for us Melo, for Charles. Even though our relationship is going great I'm not ready for him to move in with us just yet, so we found him a nice lil condo on the upper west side of town." She tells me
"Oh, ok. Well I'm gonna head to bed." I say as I head upstairs
I walk upstairs to my room and I take a shower. I get out of the shower and I get dressed and I lay in bed. I pick up my phone and I call Javontae. He answers the phone and puts his sleepy face in the camera.
"Hey pa" He says sleepily
"Hey bae" I say
"What's up?" He says
"Nothing, I just wanted to call you before I went to bed." I tell him
"Okay, I'm finna go back to sleep" He says
"Okay, good night bae" I say
"Good night pa, I love you" He says
"I love you too" I say as I hang up
I put my phone down and I lay in bed for a few minutes until I start to fall asleep.
Kennedi POV: I wake up to the smell of breakfast and lavender. I quickly go to my bathroom and brush my teeth, take a shower, etc. My dad needed up not coming the other night, something else to add to his terrible fatherly resume. I walk downstairs and I see my mom making breakfast. "Morning mommy" I say as I kiss her cheek "Morning baby" She says I grab a plate and a cup of juice and sit down at the table and begin to eat. "How was your sleep baby" she asks "Cool, I guess" I say She immediately bypasses my answer and asks me something. "Ok cool- umm can you watch Mj tonight" She asks "What, why can Elijah do it?" I say "Because I'm asking you to. It's not like you have anything to do tonight anyway, it's a school night" she says, stating facts I don't really have anything to do tonight, but that doesn't mean I want to watch my 9-month-old baby brother . I haven't spent alone time with him since he was born. I didn't have this baby. But this is an opportunity to earn some cash. "sure mom, I'll watch Mj...for $30." I say "Damn I gotta pay you to watch your own brother" she tells me "I mean you could always take him with you" I say She starts to think about it and she looks at me. "Fine" She says I continue eating my breakfast and I go upstairs to get dressed for school. I put on a black and white Nike sweatsuit with some black Air Force 1s.
Melo POV: When I get to school I go straight to my locker. Tre, Tavon, Deion, and Tae aren't gonna be here because their game is a travel game, is it's just me and the girls today. I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn around to see a pretty light skin girl with glasses, she almost made me switch teams for a minute.
"Oh hi, umm how may I help you?" I ask "Oh sorry, where are my manners. My name is Miya, you're Melo right?" She asks pushing her glasses up on her face "Yeah, are you new here Miya" I ask "Is it that obvious" she laughs "No no it's cool, I'm so do you need help or something" I ask "Yes actually. Umm..the principle told me to find you and gave me this schedule" she says handing me the paper "Oh that's why, our schedules are identical, so I can def show you around" I tell her as I close my locker then I get a text from Tae, it's only a good morning Text but it immediately makes me blush. "Is that the misses?" Miya asks "More like the mister. His names Javontae" I tell her "Oh..cool. I don't judge if that's what you're thinking." She says "girl you good, come on let's get to class, Ms Harrell hates when we're late." I tell her We walk down the hall and go to the math classroom. We take our seats and Ms Harrell begins her lesson. Tae POV: We won our game by 30 points and now we're heading home. I see that Melo posted in his story with a light skin girl and captioned the picture "nfs". She must be a new girl. I decide ti take a nap til we get back to the school. When we get back I text melo and ask if I can come over. Me: Pa Melo: yea bae Me: is it cool if I come over and spend the night again. I got clothes. Melo: yeah let me know when you pulling up I put my phone down and head to my room to get my duffel bag. I go into the bathroom and take a shower. After I get out of the shower I throw on some Nike sweats and a t-shirt and some socks. I pack my clothes and get in my car to head to Melo's house.
Melo POV: I go home and put the groceries in the kitchen and put the stuff that needs to be cold in the fridge. I text Tae and he said he was pulling up. I put my phone in my pocket and I go downstairs to wait for Tae. When he pulls up I hear a horn outside. When I open the door he walks up and hugs me tight while he walks me backward into the house and closes the door.
"Paaaaaa, I missed you" he says burying his face in my neck and covers my neck with kisses
" I missed you too." I say blushing
He finally lets go of me and grabs his bag. He puts it upstairs and I head to my room and lay on the bed. He lays beside me and I snuggle into him.
"So what you been doing without me for the whole day" he asks me
"Nothing" I say
"oh, thought you had some niggas up in here" he says laughing while he kisses me
"Never" I say with a laugh
He rolls on top of me and kisses my neck and chest. I roll over and put him under me. Kennedi POV: I finally get home after school and I see my mom's car in the driveway. I also see a car parked on the curb, who there hell is at my house. When I walk in I see him. The infamous man, the one who's been gone for 11 years, my dad.
