𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 THIRTEEN:
SACRᵉᵈ!
"Your eyes, they changed.”

𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐃𝐄 FIVE: 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 five.
Sweet home.

As I was wandering around, looking everywhere. There seemed to be no sign of Eun-yu, where did she go?

How long will it take her to arrive back, is she alright? I couldn't help but think to myself as my heart was shattered as I was devastated through everything going on.

I reached inside my pocket and held the coloured sweet that was wrapped up in clear wrap, “Hyun-su…” I muttered under my breath but a warm hand had thrown themselves onto my shoulder making me flinch and turn around in almost an instance.

My breathing had slowed down as I noticed who it was, “Park Chan-Young…” I had muttered out his full name in shock, mistakingly.

As I continued to stare at him I noticed something seemed off with him, his expression seemed duller than usual. What's up with him?

He moved his hand away as I muttered his name softly, “Chan-Young?” I asked.

He looked at me before turning his head to the ground, “I need to talk to you, about something…” He had spoken, making shivers crawl up my spine, for some reason I didn't like this uneasy feeling I was getting right now.

“Could we talk here?” I asked him right before his eyes turned up at me, his dark orbs stared at me making me feel a type of way. My chest started pounding.

I placed a hand on his wrist, carrying it gently to calm himself down. Whatever he was thinking or wanted to say…it isn't good.

As we heard footsteps Chan-Young surprisingly made his move and took hold of my wrist and pushed me inside a free storage room and shut the door behind him leaving no slam.

My eyes couldn't help but travel everywhere in nervourousity, “Par-” I muttered his first name but a hand to my face caught me off guard as he pushed his chest closer to mine. His actions made it hard for me to breathe, I wasn't sure if he knew what I was feeling.

As the footsteps decided to walk away, we were left into silence. All we heard was each of our deep breathing.

“I need to verify something…” He said as he placed his hands, scattering them over my bandage, I tried to pull away.

Why was he doing this?

“Hey! Stop…what are you doing?” I tried pulling away as I felt the smallest fear inside me, I didn't expect to be feeling like this especially with Chan-Young.

I frowned my eyes in sadness as he continued, he ripped off my bandage.

“Why did—” As I wanted to ask why, I looked down to my arm and found the answer myself. My wound had already healed, this fast…meaning only one thing.

I dropped into the corner of the cramped storage room's wall, even knowing there was barely enough room for both of us. He pulled me in and embraced me, he gave me the warmest hug and hand crawled into my hair.

“Why? Why am I turning into a monster?” I asked as I had just found out, so was all these appearances a sign? But I had never bled out of my nose, is…what…

Monster or not, I'll still be me right?

“You're going to be alright.” His words said as I felt his voice croak, he was about to break down any moment. He seemed to be as sad as I was.

“How? How did you know this?” I asked him as I pulled away, even though I didn't know…but he did? Just…what did he see?

He licked his lips nervously as he carried my cheek, moving his hand slowly up to my eye. “Your eyes, they changed.” He had muttered as I dropped my head onto my hands, are my eyes black right now?

His hand held my chin and brought me to face him, to face reality. “But, it wasn't like the others. They were white?” He tried not to stutter on his words, it seemed like he didn't know what was going on.

I nervously smiled, “That doesn't mean, I'm turning into a monster right…?” I asked him as he tilted his head and smiled sadly.

“I don't know…” He said, “How didn't you know? Did you not show any of the symptoms?” He asked me as his hand latched onto mine.

I looked away, “I don't remember having a nose bleed.” I said as I let out a sigh before looking at him.

I tried to think as when I was passed out with Hyun-su, maybe then I had a nosebleed? I'm not sure though….

He bit onto his lip as he looked around slightly frustratedly, “We don't know what this is, we can't tell anyone.” He said making my eyes widen, he was a soldier it was his duty to report any signs of monstrosity.

“But-” I tried to confront him but he spoke over me, “We keep this a secret.” He placed each hand on my arms, it seemed like he meant his words. He doesn't want anyone knowing this.

“I might hurt someone, plus we don't don't know what this is? It could be a new disease?” I tried to confront him, though he didn't take any of it.

I would hate to tell people about what's going on with me, that I have just found out…As the mad scientist could start experimenting on me, or something worse?

“Don't you remember what you told me?” He asked me as I shook my head, what was he talking about…I can't think.

“You said not all monsters are what people think they are, you might turn out to be what you're thinking.” He finished his grand speech as I was left there, thinking what to do.

“You're right…” I muttered faintly, though I'm a mean person…how wouldn't I not turn into a monster. I haven't even had the chance to talk to Hyun-su again!

“I need to leave. I need to go find someone.” I said desperately as I stared at Chan-Young's eyes, wishing for him to move out the way. Wishing him to let me free, let me go see Hyun-su.

I didn't want to meet Hyun-su as a monster who doesn't recognise him, if I don't make it. It'll lead him to further pain.

I felt Chan-Young wrap something around where my wound was, “Keep this, don't let anyone find out. Okay?”

His nose and mine were barely just touching as I stared in his orbs, something here felt strange inside me. I noticed myself staring down at his lips as I felt him getting closer…

I nodded as he let me out of the cramped storage room, free to be on my way. I'd rather not get mixed feelings though what's happening to me right now…

Though as I was about to, I had stumbled across Eun-yu, “Eun-yu!” I called her name.

I shouldn't tell her, she's got enough on her mind finding her brother.

I couldn't help but look behind me as I saw Chan-Young stare at me in sadness.
