[Ash x Lyle part]
Drop. Under the roof, water droplets fall on the window. That rhythmic calm sound slowly wakes Karlyle up. His consciousness, deeply immersed in the peaceful stillness, gradually awakes. His eyelashes flutter.
Quietly turning himself, he watches Ash lying next to him. His sleepy gaunt face slowly regains its expression as he looks at his darling. Ash is so adorable that he's lost for words. Not wanting to let go of his silhouette, his gray eyes focus to fully capture Ash.
He'd love to lie down with Ash all day, but he has to get up early since he has things to do.
Karlyle carefully pushes Ash's arm that is wrapping around his waist. He slowly and cautiously lifts his arm up, just in case his husband wakes up. Ash's beautiful eyebrows furrow slightly in his sleep, as if he notices that Karlyle's leaving. But he doesn't wake up, he's still breathing peacefully. Ash looks so adorable that Karlyle stops to watch him for a moment.
When his beautifully smiling face is calm like now, it means Ash is deep asleep. This sight is rare in summer and can only be seen in winter. Karlyle can't miss this rare chance. Ash is a little vulnerable to cold so he wakes up later than Karlyle in this chilly season.
Only after confirming that Ash's eyebrows are completely relaxed that he pushes his arm off. Ash twitches a little in disapproval, then he buries his face in the pillow. Karlyle pauses in his track again. As a result, it takes him 20 minutes to finish removing Ash's arm. He should get up soon, or else the person waiting for him outside would grumble.
As the blanket falls off, his upper body becomes visible. Under his broad shoulders is his curvy and muscular back. Kiss marks run along his spine, and his firm chest is full of tooth marks around his nipples. He leaves the bed with his body clearly engraved with love marks.
He then enters the bathroom and takes a light shower. His dark gray hair after washing is darker than usual, almost similar to Kyle's hair. Wiping off the water and putting on his gown, he puts on another layer of fur robe then goes down the stairs.
The lodge is quiet. Everyone must still be sleeping since last night's party was a blast. Kyle's children, Gideon and Kara, too excited seeing snow for the first time, went out playing with Alex (the boyfriend of Nick's brother Nathan) all night. As a result, they fell asleep in the blink of an eye.
Karlyle, with a small smile almost visible, heads to the place of appointment. It's the warehouse full of groceries and firewood outside the lodge. Bright sunlight is pouring on the white snow. Glittering sunlight reflects through the icicles hanging under the roof. Spawns are singing in the air. Also, the smell of winter.
