I hate Stefan.

Nik says he's stolen our family but I don't understand how.

All I know is that I can't see them. Again. And because Nik sent Bekah away she's lost too.

When Nik came back, he promised me safety. He said father will never return or hurt me ever again.

I ran into his arms as he proclaimed it's about time we bring our family back, with the biggest smile I've ever seen on his face.

Joyful doesn't fully encapsulate how euphoric we both felt. Nik finally saying yes- it was the best day of my life.

Until it became the worst.

Worse than dying the first time, when father stabbed me with his blade. Worse than dying the second time, when his white oak embedded into my heart instead of Nik's.

I had hope. And then it was ripped from me.

Nik declared our family missing.

I howled and screamed but there was nothing Nik could do.

Stefan didn't care. He still doesn't.

That day feels like so long ago. I'm miserable now. I just want to see my big brothers and sister again.

Why is Stefan so mean?

Nik hasn't been staying in our big house in Mystic Falls lately. He has been travelling all over the country, trying to find our siblings when Stefan sends him on a silly chase to the wrong state.

The upside to this, is he hasn't yet discovered his missing paints or his glittery underwear. I wish I never did any of that. I don't want to make him even sadder.

And he is very sad right now. Like me.

We FaceTime from Katerina's phone everyday because she looks after me, however he always refuses to tell me whether he has found any of our family yet.

Which means the answer is no. I'm not stupid.

He did say sorry for everything bad he's done around me. He promised it won't happen again but I don't know if that's true yet. He's said it before too.

Everyday Katerina and I play together. I love her. She's family now and she will be a Mikaelson properly once 'Lijah gets back.

Nik calls her and I overhear them talking about him coming home. I'll be happy to see him but I want him to come home with everyone. It doesn't sound like he's going to.

"Stefan wants me back in Mystic Falls tonight, he is insisting," Nik informs Katerina. "I won't play his games any longer."

I stop listening when Nik says he won't be sleeping at home tonight again. He is so busy tracking our family, he doesn't have much time for sleep.

I trudge upstairs feeling blue. Another night without my family. I hate it.

Proving to Katerina what a big girl I am, I start getting changed into my pyjamas. I manage to put the bottoms on but struggle to put my hands through the armholes of the top.

This still doesn't mean I'm going to bed on time.

I hear a knock on my window that makes me look over curiously. Then it happens a second time.

Walking over, I throw my pyjama top on the floor in frustration, before peeping out of the window. It's dark and I can't see much.

Maybe it's one of Nik's hybrids playing a game.

I'm way too slow when a male darts forwards, pulling me down and I tumble to the muddy ground.

Before I can scream, something sharp pierces my neck and I slump over in an unconscious heap.
