Chapter Thirteen
Red's For The Devil
✶ ✶

Emilia sat on the dining table, a newly modified contract in hand and a frown etched upon her face. She let out a sigh after her talk with Sebastian, they both agreed it would be best not to mention what happened at brunch.

Shaking her head Emilia looked over at Kaiya with furrowed eyebrows and a worried glance, "You screw me over and you'll regret it." Emilia raised her mug and brought it to her lips, she took a sip of her coffee, before glancing at the clock.

It was eight in the evening and there had been no signs of her mother, nor her father. After a while of thorough thinking, Emilia called Kaiya over, she was going to sign the contract, but she needed some advice before she actually did it.

"No one is screwing anyone over anytime soon, your highness, so better not worry." Kaiya shot Emilia a smirk, crossing one leg over the other, before placing her head on the palm of her hand.

Grabbing a pen, Emilia signed the contract with a hint of regret in her eyes. She looked at it with a small frown before dropping the pen over her mother's expensive dinning table.

"Way to be dramatic." Kaiya mused as she stood up from her chair, "I'll be picking you up tomorrow at 9, be ready, I don't like to wait."

Emilia furrowed her eyebrows looking over at Kaiya with a perplexed expression, "why would you be picking me up at 9."

"There's a party this Friday, Reina is hosting it, I want you to go".

Emilia blinked several times, looking at Kaiya in confusion "You're asking me, to go to Reina's monthly party?" Emilia scoffed before a serious look took over her features "I'm sorry, but when it comes to Reina, I try to avoid the red-haired witch at all costs".

Kaiya rolled her eyes, "Just do me this favor and I will owe you one down the road. It's simple, and fair" Kaiya tilted her head and shot Emilia a devilish smile. "Reina has some things she needs to pay back, and you my dear friend, are just the right person for me to get it".

"Promising, but I'll pass." Emilia checked her reflection one las time before she started walking towards the door.

Kaiya smirked "Trust me Emilia, you don't want to do that".

Emilia looked back "Is that a threat?".

"No" Kaiya tilted her head and shot her a cunning smirk "It's a mere suggestion".

"I'd rather stab myself in the eye than go to one of Reina's parties." Emilia crossed her arms over her chest before looking over at Kaiya with a stony expression.

"Well you're snarkier than usual." Kaiya stood up from her seat, gripping the edges of Emilia's mother's dining chair. "But trust me when I say this, you need to go to this party."

Emilia raised an eyebrow, obviously aware of the blunt lies Kaiya was throwing her way "Fine, but you'll owe me, no questions asked".

"Please don't forget to wear something pretty." Kaiya smiled, before turning around, "and don't worry dear, I'll show myself out." She said, heels clicking on the distance until Emilia faintly heard the sound of the door slam shut.

With a roll of her eyes Emilia headed off to bed, she didn't sleep much, of course, she wasn't sure if Sebastian could, in fact, keep his mouth shut, especially when it came to keeping a secret from Sutton. Either way, Emilia was thankful Sebastian hadn't asked many questions about the whole ordeal, he had just looked at her and gave her some ice for the redness. He had also offered his home for Emilia to stay in, which she respectfully declined, and much to his dismay, Sebastian took Emilia home.
