Yay. I'm back. Still sick af. Let's get into it.

Unixy's POV
"Wait, wait, wait!" Mrs. Burmin shouts after everyone as a few students hop out of their seats. I glance at Monica, only to find her climbing out of her chair and running to the door; I soon follow in suite.
"Monica!" I yell at her, trying to catch up as she sprints through the hordes of teens and teachers. I catch up to her, grab onto her arm, and we continue at more of a speed-walk pace out of the school doors; most of the kids had crowded around the door trying to fit through. As kids rush outside, I can finally see what the huge commotion is about.
9. 9 cop cars parked at the entrance of the school, all with their lights on.
"What's going on?" I hear Mrs. Burmin ask who I'm assuming is a police officer, but being short, and somewhat in the middle of this massive crowd of people, I can't see anything other than the back of some guy's head in front of me.
"I need to speak with Unixy Skyler." A familiar voice speaks. My stomach twists, a tunnel-like gap forming ahead of me, revealing Officer Mike, the sheriff and my dad's boss.
I slowly step closer and closer to him, everyone's eyes burning holes into mine. Not angry stares, just... curious, I guess, maybe a few worried, but mainly curious. I walk up to the tall, muscular officer and look up at him.
"What happened?" Anyone could read the sadness written across his handsome face. The worry lines on his forehead were prominent as his frown deepens. His eyes held so much sorrow, looking into them could make even a grown man weep.
"There was an accident on Maybury Bridge. A car was hit by a semi-truck and it rolled. It went off the side of the bridge and sunk. The bodies that were found were identified at the scene." I'm confused. Why is he telling me this?
"What?" I question, eyebrows knitting together. "I-I don't understand, um..."
"Unixy... your parents and siblings were in the car. They were on their way to an appointment when it happened. I'm so sorry to have to tell you this." I couldn't help the laugh that escapes my lips."You're really funny. Seriously, where are the cameras at." I ask, looking around for the camera crew. "Am I gonna be on 'Punk'd' or something? A prank show? Cause if so, this is one sick prank."
"There are no cameras, no pranks. Unixy, I wouldn't lie to you about this, I'm sorry." Mike's eyes well with tears as he stares me in the eyes. I let my gaze drop to the cement cover ground as they begin to cloud up.
"So, you're saying..."
"Yes."And that's all it takes for me to burst into tears. I slowly bring my hands to my face as Mike wraps his arms around my shoulders, pulling into his chest. In the background I can faintly hear the noise of shuffling feet as kids walk back inside, more than likely being ushered by Mrs. Burmin, but I don't care. I don't care.
I couldn't save them. I couldn't save my own family from this.
"It's gonna be ok." He whispers in my ear, rubbing circles on my back as another sob wracks through my body.
Something was going to happen today, I felt could feel it this morning. But what I didn't expect, was this.
~~
After about 10 minutes of me bawling my eyes out into Officer Mike's police uniform, and more than likely soaking it with my tears, he decided it would be best to take me back to the station.I step out of Mike's squad car, walking to the door with him trying to keep up with me. He finally catches up as I step into my dad's office; where I make myself at home in his desk chair. I can feel tears streaming down my cheeks while I sit there, thinking.
But I don't stop them. I let myself cry.
"What am I going to do now?" I sniff, wiping my eyes with the sleeves of my shirt.
"That's what I've been thinking about... Your grandparents on your mom's side are your closest living relatives that are suitable to care for you, so they'll receive full custody."
"Who?" I've never met my grandparents on my mom's side, only on my dad's side, mainly because the ones on my dad's side, live in Florida."They live Black Woods, Alaska. Your grandmother in Florida isn't fit to take care of you, due her age, so you'll be sent up to Alaska." I nod, still slightly confused, but for a reason.
"When?" He leans against the side of my dad's desk, folding his arms across his broad chest.
"In two days." I glance up at him."I can't bury my family, pack up their things, and move in two days. I-I don't think I can handle all of that. I just-I just can't."
"Yes, you can. You wanna know how I know? Cause I'm gonna be there every minute of it all, and if you don't think you can handle it; I'm there for you. If you need a shoulder to cry on; I'm there for you. If you need someone to talk to or to let out all your anger and punch them; I'm there for you." He smiles- sadness in his eyes, but a mask sincerity placed over everything else. "You're not alone. Because I'm here. I'll always be here." I can't even form proper English words as I stand up and wrap my arms around his waist as tightly as I can, knowing if I let go right now, I'll never get this back.
He must've taken that as my 'thank you' that I wanted to say, because as I walk to the door, he doesn't stop me. He just follows me quietly back out to his squad car.
Two days to say goodbye to the life I once knew. Two days to say goodbye to everyone I love. Two days to say goodbye to what was my family, and is soon to be four bodies under ground.
