How is everybody doing this fine day?

I know, I know, it's been literally an eternity since I last updated, but summer is coming to an end for me and I wanted to spend as much time as I could focused on that. Plus I have to read 3 books before August 14th and I've procrastinated to the point of driving myself insane.

7 days to read 2 books I haven't even started. One essay. (I've finished one- which I only had to read 2 short stories from)

Great.

Anyway... This chapter is really choppy, sorry.

Enjoy!

Unixy's POV

"Kaleb, get off of me."

"No." His voice fills the air, the tone almost childlike.

"But you're really heavy." I wheeze, pushing against his back. He scoffs and places his hand against his chest.

"Are you calling me fat?"

"Yes, now move before I suffocate." His half grin falls and he quickly jumps off of me, standing to his feet and pulling me up with him.

"Sorry."

"It's fine." I send him a reassuring look. After I had burst through the door earlier, he'd tried everything to cheer me up, but nothing was working, so he sat on me. The gesture reminded me of a cat, but I won't tell him that; it would break his little wolf heart.

"You sure?"

"Yes, I'm okay." I chuckle. The smile that appears on his face after I'm finished speaking leaves butterflies in my stomach.

Cheesy, I know. But true.

"Okay- good. I just don't like-"

"Ooh, lovebirds." Max's voice touches my ears as the door to Kaleb's room opens.

"Knock next time, please." Kaleb growls lightly, a hint of anger laced in his tone, but the look on Max's face shows that he's unfazed yet nods anyway.

"So, I was thinking that since school is out for the rest of the day, and it's still pouring out, we should all go to the mall and hang out. That way Unixy can get to know us a little better and vice versa."

"I'm down for that, but..." I turn towards Kaleb as he speaks. "If you don't want to, we can stay here."

He's leaving the decision up to me?

If I went, I would just be kind of a downer the entire time, considering I'm still not in the best of moods. But if I stayed here with Kaleb and the rest of them left, I could be missing out on a chance to learn more about my new friends.

Would it be worth clearing my mind if my family for a few hours?

"Unixy?" Kaleb snaps me out of my thoughts causing me to move my gaze back over to him. "You don't have to go if you don't feel comfortable going."
