I feel the car stop moving as i nudge 10k awake
"Its getting dark we should clear out one of these houses" Warren says
"Mack and I will go ahead and clear out the bottom floor" Addy offers
Warren nods as I get off the truck 10k behind me, I look down and see im still wearing the revealing top, 10k sees me and offers me a sweater
"here, i have another one so dont worry" he smiles and i accept it
"thanks ten"
I zip it up as Addy tells us its clear, we all go inside and see there are 5 rooms
"well i'm taking my own" Murphy says of course he wants his own.
"Me and Addy get one" Mack says as they walk upstairs
"Me and ten could share I suppose" *i shrug as ten nods*
"Ill take the next room then I guess" Cassandra Says
"ill take watch till midnight then from there me and Cassandra can switch" Doc adds
"Sounds good, Me and warren can bunk out together stay safe doc" Garnett says as we all walk to our rooms
Once in the room i open the drawers and find a pair of pajama pants and a light tank top I look over at ten
"turn around"
he nods and turns as I change I open another drawer and smile as I find deodorant I turn to face ten and see him smiling
"finally"
"i know i feel like I smell like a skunk" I laugh
We get into bed and sit up
"Before all of this did you work?" 10k asks
i nod
"retail I hated it but had to"
"I would hate that I didn't work lucky for me"
"yeah you were one of the lucky ones" I laugh
"Did you ever have a boyfriend?"
"just one, it was short nothing serious what about you?"
"no, not sure why I guess I was just always scared"
I nod as i stay silent
"so you are pretty good on your gun"
"i guess I am" I shrug
"We make a good team you know that Blake?"
"I do know that ten, i'm glad we met"
"me too Blake"
"well goodnight ten"

I turn around and fall asleep

the next morning I wake up and see ten gone his side of the room cleaned up. I get up change back into my clothes and walk downstairs I see Cassandra on the couch, 10k on another seat, and doc and Murphy on the table. I walk over and sit by Doc and Murphy.
"How'd you sleep?" Doc asks smiling
"I slept good thanks doc' I smile back
Murphy rolls his eyes as he sets another card on the table. I look around and see 10k putting a blanket on Cassandra. I smile, it's sweet. I don't feel jealous weirdly. It's the apocalypse we all have to look after each other.
10k gets up as he heads into the bathroom. I walk over to Cassandra and sit next to her. She sits up
"hi Blakelyn" she says no expression on her face
"hi Cassandra" I say not looking at her
"Thank you for trying to help me when they were chasing me"
"No problem we always have to look out for each other."
she smiles before I speak up
"were you and ten something before I came? I kind of sense some I dont know. jealously?" I say softly
"We weren't anything I guess. We were just really close friends we still are" she says before adding more
"Me and ten are just friends. We got close because we joined the group on the same day. I see the way he looks at you. Treat him right he's a great person. So are you Blake"
"oh that makes sense. Thank you Cassandra I appreciate it."
I smile. Then ten comes out of the bathroom as he walks out the back door. I get up and follow.
"Where are you going?" I ask
"Just needed some fresh air"
He says sitting on the bench. I walk over and sit next to him.
"Addy and Mack haven't left their room at all" he laughs smirking
"ew gross."
"They make a cute couple"
"I know. They have each other to them nothing else matters." I say sighing
"We have each other now Blake"
I tilt my head confused. What does he mean by that?
"I mean like- I didn't-" He stutters
Just then Warren comes out
"Puppies and Kittens we are out in 5 "
Me and ten get up as we head to the room, I grab my bag, my sniper, and weapons. We leave the room as we go downstairs and see everyone heading out. We get in the truck same spots as always.
Ten lays down and I see him close his eyes and he slowly falls asleep.
"are you and the kid a thing?" Doc asks whispering
"not sure, I am a little confused if I'm being honest"
"I get it. I've been through hell with women. Can't blame him for not being straight forward."
"Ten is a great person, I just don't want to get hurt." I say looking down
"I get it heartbreak is difficult-"
"I mean I don't want to see him turn Doc."
"oh"
It becomes silent
"I already saw my sister turn I don't need something like that to happen to me again." I add softly
"Kid. I understand. But 10k is going to be the last one of us to die, he's a cockroach."
I giggle as I look over at ten. Maybe Doc is right, I should just go for it.
