We are sitting on the side of the road. 10k, Cassandra, and I on the bed of the truck. Addy and Mack inside the truck. The rest sitting outside. Doc and Garnett are trying to see what's going on with the truck. There are high winds and the sky is all gross and dark .Then Warren flips on the radio.
"Trouble is a brewing- if you are anywhere near Chicago or east of rocky I assure you to get your butt in a bunker warning..hey I hope you guys are getting this Addy and friends but you guys have to seek shelter immediately because this is bad. And when you seek shelter you need to contact me and tell me where you are. Citizen z Signing off"
I sit back and look at ten he gives me a reassuring smile and grabs my hand.
"so which way do we go" Garnett asks
"Storm is pushing north from the golf, if we make it to the I-70 we can outrun it" Warren responds
"That storm is going faster than that crap truck could ever go" Doc argues
"yeah I agree we need a better plan guys" I say sitting up
"We've gotta get off the road, we gotta seek shelter" Garnett tells warren
"What we need is to get the hell out of here, I ain't stopping just cause some punk with a satellite says so" Warren snaps back
"Hang on am I missing something?" Murphy asks getting out of the truck "You did not drag my ass this far so that man-kinds hope could get sucked up by a tornado did ya?"
I roll my eyes and look at 10k who is holding in his laugh, everyone hops back in the truck. just me and 10k are riding in the back now. The weather is getting worse by the second. I worry that the storm could catch up to us. We see a sign that says Castle point. But Warren ignores it and goes the other way.
"whoa look at that storm coming in" We hear Addy say
"okay fine.. you win" Warren says as she turns the truck around and we head into castle point
"this is where Warren used to live" I inform 10k
"this cant go well" Is all he says. I turn and look at the storm.
We suddenly come to a stop as me and 10k get on the roof. Garnett and Warren walk off going to look at a sign.
"its so green, I've never seen a sky look like that" Cassandra comments
"I don't like tornadoes pretty sure they don't like me either" Doc says
Me and ten look up and back at each other.. everyone gets back in their spots and off we go. We pull up to Warrens house.
"10k, Blake come on" Addy yells as we walk towards the house
"If he's in there and hes-" Garnett starts
"I will not hesitate" she cuts him off
We enter the house and I walk down the hall checking the rooms. I hear Warren yell "Get out of the chair, go on and get out that's my husbands favorite chair"
