___________Eden's POV__________

When the song finally ended and the lights dimmed, I was breathless.

"Come on, Toby, please? Just one song?"

He was staring at the floor.

"I don't know, Eden, I'm not much of a singer..."

"Dude, you came to a karaoke diner. One song, it's all I'm asking for. Who knows, this could be your chance to impress that girl?"

"She's not here."

"Oh, well..." I wasn't sure how to respond. Toby looked up at me, frowning slightly.

"Did she like your performance? Did you two get to talk after the show?" I asked him, and his frown deepened.

"Uh, no, we didn't get the chance to talk."

Oh. No wonder he was down in the dumps.

"I'm sorry, Toby, that sucks. Anything I can do to cheer you up?"

He smiled. "Well, you have a pretty voice, maybe you can sing again?"

I crossed my arms, smirking.

"Or, ya know, we could sing together."

Toby looked at me, giving me a funny look that I couldn't quite decipher.

"Uh...my throat's a little dry, maybe later?"

I raised an eyebrow. It wasn't exactly a no.

"Well, my food's getting cold, so how about we both go eat, and then in the meantime, you can think of a song for us to sing?"

He smiled again at me, nodded, and left to meet up with his group.

"Eden? Who's your new friend?" Alya screamed at me from across the diner.

I rolled my eyes, walking over to them.

"Hey guys, that's my new pal, Toby. He's in the band that got second place, Écho. Cool, huh?"

Adrien nodded, smirking at me. I poked him in the stomach as he took a drink, causing him to almost choke.

"I know what you're thinking, Adrien, and it's not that," I whispered to him, and he shrugged.

"Just saying, it could be," he responded.

"So, who's singing after we eat?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

Rose was quick to raise her hand. No surprise there, the lead singer of Kitty Section wants to sing again.

"Anyone else? Nathaniel? I thought you had a great voice, surprisingly."

"What's that supposed to mean?" He demanded, and I shrugged.

"Actually, I was gonna sing again," Adrien spoke up, and I laughed.

"I'm not sure you should, Adrien, you'll break the glass."

"How dare you, Eden, I have a beautiful voice! Ask anyone!"

I guffawed, turning to face Luka.

"Can you validate this?" I asked him, and Luka smiled softly.

"Er, Adrien has a very unique voice," He said, and I rolled my eyes.

"Unique to a pterodactyl," Nino chimed in.

"Shut up, Nino."

Laughing, I high-fived Nino, and Adrien crossed his arms.

"Fine then, you sing again, Nino."

He sighed, looking at his girlfriend.

"Alya, you up for a duet, baby?"
