Unexpected Encounter

Chapter 9

Charlotte's POV

I was at my house getting ready for the event tonight. Engfa was going to come and pick me up soon to go to the hospital as the event was going to be held there. I am wearing a simple strapless black dress that is open from the right side of the leg so that I can walk easily. I matched it with dark red lipstick and simple makeup that highlighted my brown eyes. I was on the phone with my brother updating him about the last moves that the company had made since we've been part of the hospital.

"What time does the event end?" asked my brother

"I don't know, hopefully, I get to come home before 10 pm," I said

 "Who are you going with?" he asked with a concerned tone

"With Engfa Waraha, she offered to take me to and back from the event," I said

"I she trustworthy?" he asked in a concerned big brother tone

"Yes she is, I am mainly doing it because she helped me the other day deal with my panic attack, so this is basically my way of saying than you," I said

"Is she cute?" he asked with a curious tone

"She is a beautiful woman if that is what you are asking. Although I don't know if you should be asking that since you are married," I answered

"I am not asking for me, I am asking for you," he said

"Since when do you care about my love life? You always tell me to focus on the company because that is what matters," I tell him

"Well yeah that is true but I like this girl Engfa," he said with a smile

I grabbed the phone to look at the camera and said "Why you've never even met her?" I said

"Well yeah, but she helped you when you needed it the most, and not anybody goes out of the way to do it which means she must like you and you seem to like her based on how much effort you've put into your look little sister," he said in a calm tone

"Anybody would have done what she did and she doesn't like me and in regard to the other stuff I am putting a lot of effort into my look to impress the people at the event not her," I said in a defensive tone

"She does like you little sister, but anyway tell her thank you for taking care of you and that I look forward to meeting you when I get there," he said with an enthusiastic tone

He literally just ignored everything I just said to him, which doesn't surprise me he takes after my dad in that department. The bell rang and I went to look at the monitor to see that it was Engfa's car waiting outside. I pressed the button to open the gate so that her car could enter.

"Okay big brother Engfa just arrived so I will be calling you tomorrow to tell you all about the vent. Say hi to everybody over there and hopefully, they all come with you when you visit," I said

"Okay bye, take care and if anything happens call me, although I doubt that you will need me with her by your side," he said with a playful tone in the last part.

I opened the door and Engfa was waiting for me outside of her car in an emerald dress, her jet black hair was down with a little bit of waves her makeup as always highlighted her beautiful eyes, and her lipstick was a natural color. She looked stunning.

"Hi," I said as I closed my door, as I grabbed my purse

"Hi, you look beautiful," she said with a blushing tone

I blushed a little too and said "Thank you, you don't look bad yourself,"

"Thank you, shall we get going?" she asked
