Aakriti's Pov

I looked at the ceiling for the 19th time.
Ragini di didn't let me out of my room after whatever happened today morning.
And I'm glad, I don't want to face those people.

The excruciating pain I was feeling on my hand can't be expressed in words.

But what about the heaviness in my heart?

Did I deserve to be treated that way?

It kills me to imagine my whole life in this family who wouldn't hesitate to bring me to death for minor inconvenience.

Sasu maa toh maa jaisi hoti hai na
Toh koi apni beti ke saath aise kaise kar sakta hai.

(Everyone says that mother-in-law is like your mother then how can someone be this cruel towards their daughter)

I am feeling ashamed to tell anyone about today's incident.

When I was in school, we used to hear about articles in which the daughter-in-law gets treated badly.

My friends and me would always discuss on why the girl doesn't fight foe herself.

Aaj main wohi ladki banke reh gayi.

Wohi lachar, Besahara ladki jo sara julm sahe.

(Today I became that girl
The coward, helpless girl who takes all the pain)

I can't even share this with Rishabh ji.

Why would he believe me over his mother?

What if he also hit me?

He bholenath
Ye kaise duvidha majn chor diya
Mujhe bacha lo dev.

Rishabh's Pov

Today was a really hectic day but my script was selected and it feels good, when your hardwork is appreciated.

When I entered my room, I found Aakriti sleeping on our bed

isn't it too early to go to bed?

I thought of waking her up but stopped thinking she might have overworked herself.

After changing into some comfortable clothes, we had dinner.

Bhabhi informed me that Aakriti is not well so I should let her rest for however long she wants to, I just nodded.

My wife is not well and I'm getting informed now.

After finishing dinner we all bid goodnights.

I entered my room and I could see Aakriti's eyes open, she was blankly staring at the ceiling.

"Aakriti, are you okay?" I asked her.

She immediately sat up and looked at me "Ye-yeah"

"Aare tum aaram karo, baithne ki koi jarurat nahi hai" I tell her to lay back again.

(You rest, no need to sit up )

" Nahi, main thik hoon"she says in her small voice, then I noticed the bandage wrapped around her hand.

(No, I'm fine)

" Ye haath mein kya hua hai? " I asked going closer to her.

Her eyes widen for a second before she says " Woh khaana banate waqt thoda lag gaya, nothing much"

(I got hurt while cooking, nothing much)

"Tumne mujhe call karke bulaya kyu nahi? jyada laga hai kya"I asked her, sitting on my side of the bed.

(Why didn't you call me then? does it hurt)

she shakes her head lightly and says "Nahi Rishabh ji, main thik hu."

"Khana khaya tumne?" I asked her and she nods.

Use your words Aakriti.
You have no idea how much I want to jear that honey claded voice.

Wait-what did I just say?

I shook my head and saw her laying back again and close her eyes to sleep.

I huff, this is the most we have spoke.

Dheere dheere aur baatien badh jayegi.

(Gradually with time, we'll talk more)

I thought to myself.

I wanted to talk to Aakriti about Daksh but it doesn't look like she's ready for any conversation.

Today morning

Dear Daksh

I feel like I have heard this name before, but where?

"Rishabh jaldi mere room mein aa" I heard bhaiya calling me.

I looked at the letter again and thought to read further.

"Rishabh!" but bhaiya called me again.

I groaned and kept the letter in the almirah.

I'll ask Aakriti about this letter.

If it's not mine then it'll probably be hers.

Now, she can tell me who is Daksh.
