MEATIONS OF BABY LOSS Emerald's Pov
After a couple of hours, the jet lands in a snowy forest, and all of us disembark the jet and split odd into pairs going into different directions. Thankfully, Peter has done what i asked and has gone with my brother, who looked at me confused before disappearing into the dense forest. The mischievous god stays close to me, making me roll my eyes because i don't need a god to help me fight or keep me safe. I follow the evidence left by a big gun fight, which leads me to a building that looks like an abandoned warehouse, and i run into the building, leaving Loki behind who is shouting for me. Shouting for me is a big mistake because if anyone is here, he has just given away my position to the enemy. I take my gun out and check every single room and cell for any signs of movement or the building still being used. I could hear Loki searching for me, but i keep pushing forward with the need to get Natasha to safety.
Most of the rooms are empty with evidence of a quick exit, and i also found a filing room, which i told Loki to check through my earpiece. I keep pushing on and find a door that looks like it leads down to a basement of sorts, and I take a deep breath as i make my way down the dimly light staircase going further into the unknown. When i get to the end of the staircas, i'm met with a metal door, and i can hear grunting and screaming coming from behind it. I take a deep breath and steady my shaking hand, holding the gun tighter because i know when i open this door all hell will break loose, and my past is going to slap me in the face. Without thinking anymore, i open the door only for gun shots to be heard, and bullets miss my head by inches. I grit my teeth and roll across the floor, ducking behind a wall while shooting my own gun in the general location that i hear the sound of the gun fire is coming from.
Before i could march forward and get Natasha, i heard someone talking asking for reinforcements. I get the smoke bomb of my belt, take the pin out and throw it around the corner, and when it explodes, sending smoke everywhere, i run back through the metal door, heading back up the staircase. I yell through the earpiece that i need Pietro and Wanda in the basement because there is no way someone like me without powers can get Natasha and Tony out there without being injured. Within seconds, i see a blue blur rush past me into the basement just as Steve yells for backup, and i hear Clint struggling in the background. I don't stop running until I'm back outside in the snowy forest, and i see everyone fighting Hydra agents in all directions. Peter screams for me as a Hydra agent steps out from behind a tree next to me, and that's when every single Hydra agent look at me, aiming their weapons at me. I don't move. i don't even breathe for a few minutes until i see that unmistakable blue blur rush past me. Then I see Natasha now standing next to my brother, and seconds later, Tony is there too with Pietro and Wanda.
"How nice of you to join us again. It's a shame it's not under better circumstances." Somone said, making me growl because i will next forget that voice
"Shut up and show yourself you piece of shit. I have waited long enough to end your worthless life." I snap, stepping forward looking for him
"You think I would show myself to you after what i have done? I know you will kill me the moment you lay your eyes on me." He said, chuckling, making my skin crawl
"I will kill you the same way you killed them!" I yell, shooting the closest Hydra agent in the head
"Speaking of them. Does your team know? Your brother? Your soulmate?" He taunts, making me tighten my grip on my gun
"You don't get to speak about them! You took them from me! You ripped them away from me before i could even name them, hold them, see their eyes, watch them grow, kiss them good night, and hold them as they cry over nightmares!" I yelled, shooting another agent
"You could have had all that. All you had to do was join us." He said, making the team and my brother look at me
"I would never join your organisation! You knew that, and you took them from me!" I screamed, tearing up
"It was rather delightful seeing you on your knees screaming as you cried, the way you punched yourself, calling yourself useless and worthless as you watched them flatline before your eyes and seeing you blaming yourself for their death-"
"Shut up!" I snapped at him
"You trying to end your life in different ways just to br with them. It's a shame when i heard that you then started to drown yourself in alcohol and nicotine just to keep surviving for them." He continues stepping out from behind a tree
"You took my angel from me, so what was you expecting, huh? Were you expecting me to throw a damn party and be happy? You took my first chance of being a mother away right in front of me! You took my child's life away before they had a chance of living! My best friend died in my arms after years of being friends and asking her to be a surrogate! You stole my child's life from them!" I said angrily as i moved closer to him, shooting any Hydra agents that get in my way
"All you had to do was join us, and you would have had your child right now." He said amusingly
"How can you stand there finding this amusing? You are vile!" I snapped, aiming my gun at him
"I'll ask one more time. Join us." He said as every Hydra agent pointed their guns at Natasha
"EM DON'T!" Clint yelled, knowing what i am about to do
"You want me that badly that you will hurt the people i love. Then you won't have me at all. I'm not scared of death, and I will do whatever it takes to keep my family and soulmate safe. I will not make the same mistake again." I answered him, putting the gun at my own head
"Emerald NO!" Natasha screamed
"EM DON'T!" Clint yelled
Suddenly, a blue blur whipped around me, and all the Hydra agents were disarmed, their weapons were gone, and so was my gub. I look slowly to my right, keeping that bastered in my line of sight and see Pietro smiling at me, and he nods his head at me with a small smile. My head snaps back to him when i see someone knocking him to the ground and throwing punch after punch at him, and i rush over after seeing the unmistakable red head.
"Natasha, stop you will kill him." I said softly, trying to pull her off him
"No! He murdered a child, an innocent child." She said, still throwing punches
"That thing wasn't a child it was a weakness. It was an unnecessary weakness that i gladly killed before it had the chance to be born." He said in between being punched
"What you called a weakness was my angel! My baby, my innocent sweet little baby!" I snapped at him
"Then join them." He said, confusing me
That's when i hear the sound of a gun being fired, and i feel a sharp pain in my stomach. Instantly, i know I have been shot and put my hands on the wound, trying to stop the bleeding as i fall backwards onto the ground. I hear Clint yell my name and see some of the team handcuffing the Hydra agents, but my vision is blocked when Natasha kneels down next to my head.
"Hold on for me, okay? Don't leave." I hear her say, but it's too late, my vision goes black
