She sits by her window in her desk, studying hard like she always does. It's a late Thursday night, the night before her finals in the morning. She finds it hard to concentrate because of the pouring down rain. Tap... Tap... She looks out her window into the darkness, seeing nothing but the old rusty streetlights. One thing catches her eye, the light in the room across the street turned on, causing all of her attention to turn towards the new lighting. She moves her curtain to the side of the window and squints, trying to clear her vision of the room. She sees a man and a woman, they seem to be yelling at each other. "That's just Thomas and Isabella," she thinks as she lets the curtain flow back over the window. Thomas and Isabella were seniors, just like she was. They fight nonstop, I mean all couples fight, right? But she's never seen a couple fight as often as they do. She opens the window to let some of the cool air flow into her boiling hot bedroom. As soon as she lifts the windows screen she can hear the screams and hollers of Thomas and Isabella across the street. "You don't know how to be a boyfriend, Thomas!" This one sounds more heated than their usual arguments, but they don't usually have little arguments either. "Well if I don't know how to be a boyfriend then I guess I shouldn't be one!" Here we go again, they break up for a week, then Isabella sucks him right back in, their usual argument. "And I'm done being your little doll, this time, I'm not coming back!" She lifts up her curtain to see Isabella running out of his front door and climbing into her car. From what she can see, she's crying her eyes out, mascara already running down her face. Thomas follows out the door, but he doesn't chase her, just sits on his porch with a beer in his hand and a cigarette in the other. She continues to look down at him while he smokes and drinks his beer, letting off some steam. She's about to let go of her curtain just as Thomas looks into her window, catching her and now knowing she's been staring the whole time.
