ikuno spoke with the squad about itsukimaru's mission meanwhile, itsukimaru himself spoke with doctor franxx who informed him that the guardian-class ship has been completed, since it was he saw no reason to leave the squad here so while they were discussing his mission he stepped in
"start packing" i said
"why" ichigo asked
"cause i'm bringing the lot of you with me, it'll be good for you all to see what the modern world is supposed to look like or a facsimile of it anyway" i said
"a facsimile" ikuno asked
"my world stagnated after second impact no new innovations no improvements, humanity just stopped moving forward, sakuya i hope i can rely on you for the combat we will be throwing ourselves into" i said, she nodded
"sure" she said
"the rest of you i'll teach ya how to fly a ship" i said with a smirk, this got excitement from the lot of them, as a week later, we made our way to the garden where the good doctor was waiting with the ship
"i feel like this thing should not function yet it does, it is a hideous creation" the Dr. said
"i agree with you Dr. but it's also the only thing i currently have the resources to build after i deal with my EVA problems i'll come back collect the parasites then get the damn starforge up and running again so we can get proper ships put together in the meantime though, we deal with what we have" i said, i said as i looked at the heavily modified autonomous assault ark that had been built, before leading the group aboard, the Dr. following
"i took the liberty of gathering a crew of two hundred and training them for you, they and the ship are ready to go" the Dr. said
"thank you Dr. as always you are a major help" i said
"glad to be of assistance, i leave you here good luck" the old man said at the docking port as we boarded the ship, we made our way to the command bridge, which thank god was standard spec with touch screen consoles similar in nature to LCARS consoles, i took the command deck
"computer bring all systems online" i ordered as all the consoles booted up, i hit a command into one of the command station interfaces that set on the left and right of the command chair in a similar fashion to how the defiant-class command chair was set up
"all hands this is the captain, prepare for launch" i said, cutting the intercoms
"computer set thrusters to one quarters take us up nice and slow, set inertial dampeners to compensate" i said, the computer chimed to clarify it received it's orders as the ship began to slowly rise off the ground
"computer once we are a thousand kilometers off the ground, activate the cloak and set coordinates to tokyo-three prepare for transdimensional jump" i said, the computer chimed again, the squad just watched as itsukimaru ordered the computer to do the job, he reopened internal comms
"all hands this is the captain, prepare for transdimensional jump, and be forewarned this may get rather bumpy" i said, cutting the channel
"take a seat strap in, sometimes we get a smooth ride, sometimes not so much" i said, the squad rushed to take seats, as their seats strapped them in automatically, after a few moments, the ship leveled off
"computer jump" i said, and the squad watched as the screen changed and revealed the network they travelled through, as itsukimaru trusted the mycelial network more then the gate-of-guf, soon the screen yet again showed a blue sky, itsukimaru unstrapped as he checked his reading making sure they were in the right place, which they were, he saw that the first attack would take place in two days giving them some time, so he began to teach the squad how to pilot a starship, of course ichigo received her spot as XO aboard, simply because she was squad leader, but since it was his ship he was automatically captain
the ensuing war, was more of a one-sided slaughter, just like when he introduced brynhildr against the nemesis-series, his new and improved unit-01 easily trounced each angel it helped that he could go all out with sakuya as his partner, he drained the poor girl each time the sortied but usually she was fine after two days of rest some times three depending on the encounter in question, or if itsukimaru was feeling particularly vindictive, he was surprised however when they were being hailed, using a frequency only one individual knew
answering the transmission i saw a familiar blue-haired, red-eyed girl
"hello rei" i said
"it is good to see you are well master" she said, my eye twitched
"so i failed then" i said, she shrugged
"in terms of raw power, we were almost on equal footing master, when you sent yourself back i was pulled along, i am disappointed that you went through such drastic means, but i understand why" rei said
"does anyone else know" i asked
"asuka, she gained the memories of her counterpart, she is rather upset with the both of us, not that i particularly care, besides that misato is showing signs but because she had no real connection to an evangelion and was only recently recruited she is only seeing vague images, but she knows you and i are involved, may i rejoin you" rei asked
"i had hoped to see you get a life of your own that appears to have been wishful thinking, you know how to find us, and i will see you soon" i said, she bowed
"i look forward to it master" rei said, as the channel cut
