Chapter 8 - cat noir

Maris Pov

We arrived back to the mansion, and I heard Harley put the car in park. I took my blindfold off to see the joker standing at the top of the steps. I got out of the car and looked at the joker and nodded. He nodded back to me and looked at Harley. I looked behind me and saw Harley getting out of the driver seat and heard the joker scream. 

"HARLEY! WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED." 

The joker was pissed. He would kill anyone for Harley. He made a promise to himself to never let anyone lay a finger on her. He walked down the steps and went up to Harley and grabbed her arm and immediately started kissing it and apologizing over and over. Saying, 'sorry for not being there', 'I'll kill him', 'you're so beautiful'. I loved how the joker treated Harley. She deserves this. I'm happy for her. I smiled. This is what I want. someone to hold me like that and love me like that and give me that reassurance that I could never get from luka. 

"Marinette"

I heard the jokers voice, and he took me out of my thoughts. 

"Yes?"

"Cat noir is going to take you to your room and make sure your healthy and nothing is on you."

I nodded and turned around to see cat noir standing at the top of the steps. I was amazed. He definitely was a handsome man. Even though he was covered head to toe to protect his identity, I could tell he was handsome. I walked up the stairs and looked up into his eyes. His eyes set me into a daze. He pulled me out of my thoughts and spoke to me. 

"Let me take you to your room Miss Marinette."

Cat noir turned around and started walking into the house. I turned back around and looked at Harley. The joker was hugging her and swaying her back and forth. I turned back around and saw Cat noir waiting for me by the entrance. I walked into the house and followed him to my room. 

We got inside my room, and he lifted up part of his mask so only his lips were visible. 

I stared at his lips, and I just wanted to kiss him. I saw his lips moving but I didn't hear a word. I was trapped in a gaze and then I heard him say my name. 

"Marinette"

I blinked twice and looked into his eyes. 

"Uh, oh what, I'm sss--ooo--rrry."

He gave a little laugh and looked at me.

"Your fine, I was just asking you, does anything hurt on you, do you feel any different?"

"Oh no, I'm fine. Just very stressful"

"About?"

I laughed nervously. I don't know if I should confine in cat noir. He seems trustworthy. 

"Well, it's a lot. It's a long story."

Catnoir smiled at me. "I would love to sit here listen to you."

I was about to start telling him my story, until I heard his radio device go off. He grabbed it out of his pocket, and I heard the jokers voice come through. 

"I need all men to report to the break room! You have ten minutes!"

I frowned after hearing the radio device. Was it bad that I didn't want him to go. Was it bad that I wished for him to stay every day and every night? I looked at catnoir and saw a thin line on his lips. He looked at me and gave a small smile.

After a second, I realized that we were standing so close to one another. Catnoir took a step back and cleared his throat. 

"I will come back and check on you later miss Marinette."

I nodded and cat noir walked out of the room. I watched him walk away and walk out of my room and shut the door. I went to my mirror and looked at myself. My cheeks were flushed, and my smile was starting to form again. Could I really become safe and happy again. 

I heard my door open, and I looked at my door I saw the joker walk inside. 

"Mari, tomorrow is the first day of your senior year. In your closet you will see a space for all your school stuff and a computer and school supplies and your bag. In the morning at eight am. Harles will be in here to take you guys to school. Your classes are the same as Harleys and your schedule is nine am to two pm, every day. Weekends are off of course. Every day after school Harley will be your ride and you still will have to wear a blindfold. Some days Harley will be taken out earlier to spend time with me of course so those days, Cat noir, my left-hand man will pick you up those days. Everything sound good to you?"

I nodded and the joker nodded back.

"How is Harley?"

The joker's eyes turned dark, and I could tell she was a touchy subject for him. "Shes okay, she's laying down. Shes actually waiting for me to come to bed but i have a meeting so I'm going to go so i can go be with my wife."

I raised an eyebrow. and smiled. "Wife?!"

The joker looked at me and laughed. "Yes, my wife. Not officially but she will be soon."

I clapped my hands and smile. The joker laughed and walked out of my room. 

I turned around and walked into my bathroom and decided to take a long hot shower. 

As I was taking a shower, I felt all the feelings from the past come rushing to my mind. Then I heard cat noirs voice. 'Your beautiful Marinette'. I smiled. He made all the feelings from the past disappear. and that made me happy, but also vulnerable.  I didn't want to get so infatuated with someone and then it becomes toxic and not right anymore. With cat noir I didn't have those bad feelings, but you never know what could happen.  

I got out of the shower, and I looked at my phone. I typed in cat noir and his number popped up. I was thinking about texting him, but I don't think that would be mature of me. He is basically my bodyguard. 

I clicked on his contact and started to write him a message. 

'Hello Mr. cat noir, I would love to have you hear my story.'

I sent the message and layed down on my bed like a little schoolgirl. Kicking my feet and squealing like I just texted my crush. Which actually was the case. 

I heard my phone ding and saw it was from him. I was scared to open it. What's happens if I made the wrong decision. 

I Looked at the text message and read 'We have time later miss Marinette' 

I smiled. I made the right choice.

I replied back. 'Thank you for everything that you do for me.' 

He instantly replied. 'I'll do anything for you miss Marinette.'

I felt all types of butterflies in my body when he was texting me.

'Cat noir, you are too kind.'

'Only to you miss Marinette.'

I didn't know what to say after that. I wanted to be bold. 

'I wish I could see your face without the mask.'

I sat there waiting for a reply, but I never got one. I was definitely being too forward with him. I ruined my chances. I heard my phone go off and I saw a message from joker.

'Marinette, I forgot to go over the dos and don'ts of the household. tomorrow there will be a meeting held right after school. goodnight'

I totally forgot of that meeting. Hopefully I didn't break any of them yet. 

I looked down at my phone and saw no replies from cat noir. I frowned. I took my towel off and changed into my lingerie night gown and layed down in my bed. I looked at the time and saw that it was eleven pm. I put my phone down and I closed my eyes and drifted off into a deep sleep.
