GILBERT RESIDENCE
[Klaus is standing in the living room, looking at Kol's burnt corpse while cradling Ash's unconscious body. He looks upset. Tyler walks in the front door.]
Tyler: Morning, sunshine. You look pathetic.
Klaus: Only until Bonnie's spell locking me in here wears off. Then I'll look different. Angrier, perhaps. Or I won't look like anything because I'll have gouged your eyeballs from their sockets.
Tyler: My friends will be back with the cure by then. So, I could shove it down your throat and make you mortal.
Klaus: I'm an Original. What makes you think my entire vampire bloodline won't be cured along with me? I.e., you.
Tyler: You know what I think? I think that's impossible. I think the moment you stop being a vampire, our whole blood connection to you is broken, and your sire-line ceases to exist. So, whatever happens to you, happens only to you, which means I can kill your ass and no one else has to die. Although I am still debating just how to do it.
[Klaus carefully lowers Ash's body and vamps towards Tyler, but can't get him due to the barrier.]
Klaus: I recommend drowning. There's nothing quite like the feeling of someone fighting for something as basic as human breath. And let me tell you, your mother was a fighter.
[Tyler glares at Klaus, who looks pleased with his taunting. Ash begins to stir. Tyler walks off into another room. Ash slowly opens her eyes.]
Ash: Kol?
Klaus: Wrong brother darling.
Ash: Nik what are you doing here? Where's Kol?
Klaus: I'm so sorry love, so, so sorry.
Ash: Why? What did you do? [Ash sits up and sees Kol's body. It takes her a minute to process what's going on since she just woke up. She looks over at Klaus for confirmation, and he nods. Ash begins to sob.]
Klaus: I so sorry darling. [Klaus hugs Ash as she punches his chest.]
Ash: Do something! Get a witch and save him, NOW! Revive him! PLEASE, save him!
Klaus: I can't, I'm so sorry.
Ash: Stop saying you're sorry. [Ash cries even louder] It's not fair.
Klaus: I know.
[Ash calms down a bit and stops hitting Klaus.]
Ash: Why are we still here? Why is Kol's body just lying there?
Klaus: Because of a spell, we can't leave. The Save Elena gang are getting the cure right now. They say they are going to feed it to us, then kill us.
Ash: I'd like to see them try. Who killed Kol?
Klaus: Jeremy Gilbert.
Ash: I'm going to kill him.
A LITTLE WHILE LATER
[Caroline enters through the back door. She sees Tyler.]
Caroline: You're still here? What are you doing?
Tyler: Gloating.
[Tyler pours himself a drink. Ash and Klaus emerge from the living room and walk as far as they can within the confines of the spell.]
Klaus: Hello, Caroline.
Caroline: Ash you're awake! [Ash just ignores her. Caroline sighs and looks back at Tyler.]
