Two weeks after Roku's temple
Rai stands at the north end of the deck looking out at the ocean.
"So...what were you doing at Roku's island?"
"I wanted peace" Rai says softly.
"Peace?" Zuko says and Rai sighs.
"You know what the fire lord thinks of me." Rai says softly.
"He is the fire-lord" Zuko says.
Rai's hand goes into a fist. Then she closes her eyes and her anger deflates.
"Did you see him?" Rai turns to Zuko.
"The avatar" Zuko says.
"Yes. I saw Aang"
Roku spoke to him.
"What are you withholding from me?" Rai doesn't turn around and then he grabs her shoulder from her blindside and turns her around Rais eyes widen and a chunk of rock rises from the sea and floats in front of Rais hand her gold eye shining as she pants .... "Prince Zuko!" Rai distantly hears Zuko's eyes widen and he lowers his hands. "Rai?" He says his voice soft. Rai doesn't respond her gold eye narrows. "Rai it's me!" Rai forms the earth together and she lets it fall onto the deck. He steps forward and she collapses into his arms.
"Rai! No ..." is the last thing Rai hears before everything goes black.
