"It really is cold tonight." Clara said, rubbing her hands furiously together, trying to generate some heat. While she was a werewolf, she didn't have anti-temperature powers. A cold breeze was slowly coming in minutes before the big game. Clara sat next to Melissa who sat next to the Sheriff. While they were making small talk, she glanced over and saw Stiles and Scott sitting next to each other on the bench.

She was tempted to go over to them and join the conversation but went against it, knowing that coach would bite off her head the moment she sat down. Clara had no clue why Scott wasn't playing out of the field but she could only guess it was because of his failing grades. Jackson was competing in the game, acting as if nothing had happened at the station.

Her foot tapped against the metal bench below as she bit her bottom lip and clutched onto her leather jacket. She hadn't really dressed for the weather but she was really regretting not buying a pair of mittens for her aching hands. This was California, it was never suppose to be cold, Clara kept complaining to herself.

Once her eyes glanced back over to her two best friends, she saw that Coach was behind them and Stiles was suddenly sprinting onto the field with his lacrosse stick and helmet. Her eyes widened in excitement, pondering to herself if she was actually going to witness Stiles play his first game.

"Oh no, why is my son running out onto the field." Sheriff Stilinski groaned slightly, causing Clara to giggle.

Melissa quirked an eyebrow. "Because he's on the team."

"He's on the team." The Sheriff glanced at them, looking for confirmation. They both nodded with smiles as Sheriff Stilinski stood up and began to cheer. "He's on the team! My son is on the field!"

Once people around them started to give the Sheriff weird looks, he awkwardly sat down but didn't restrain the large grin on his lips. Clara couldn't wait either, feeling immense excitement bubbling in her stomach. She knew that Stiles always wanted to play and missed the chance too last time when he was on first line. Her only hope was that nothing would screw up this night.

A minute later, the guy in the black-and-white shirt blew a whistle, starting the game. As the game begun, Clara folded her hands together and rested her chin on top of them, preparing herself to clap if Stiles ever got the ball. What was surprising the most was Lydia, a girl Clara hasn't seen since her party, walking up the benches and sitting next to her, a small and innocent smile on her lips. Clara couldn't help but return the gesture.

When Stiles was actually passed the ball, Clara opened her mouth to cheer but quickly shut it once he was slammed into the ground by the other team. "He's just warming up." Melissa tried to reassure as the four winced.

Seconds later, the ball was lying on the field and Stiles tried to scoop it up with his stick. Once the ball was in his stick, three guys from the other team plowed into him. Clara forced herself to look away, realizing that the reason Stiles never played was because he probably wasn't good. "He's just a bit nervous. Plenty of time for him to turn this whole game around."

It sounded like Clara was trying to do more than just convince the others that. But watching Stiles get hit and pummeled repeating was starting to make her lose all hope for him scoring a goal or even catching one. Clara looked past the Sheriff and saw Gerard standing by the side-lines, keeping his eyes glancing back-and-forth from Jackson to Scott.

"I'll be right back." Clara quickly said to them before rushing off the stands.

She ran over and slid into a spot next to Scott. "What's going on with Gerard and Jackson?"
