CHAPTER SIX ALL ON THE LINE ___________________
THE NEXT day at school sucked entirely for brooke.jace constantly tried talking to the girl which resulted in brooke ignoring all his attempts.the girl could barely last the day without crying."do you think he realizes how bad he hurt me?" brooke questioned lookin at jace and crystal talking in the hallway.
"boys suck he'll regret it dont worry bea." camille smiled comforting the girl.usually it would be brooke, camille and nicole but unfortunately nicole was unable to go to school due to her having a family issue.
brooke smiled at how supportive her friend has been this entire process.camille and brooke walked past crystal and jace bumping into phil."hey." camille and phil said in sync.both awkwardly looking at eachother causing brooke to stare at the two confused.
brooke fake coughed causing the two to look at her."well yeah bye." they said again in sync. phil walked the opposite way making camille go a different way leaving a dumbfounded brooke in the hallway.

"i just feel like the family doesn't spend time together no more." brooke's mother expressed as the wright family sat on their living room couch. brooke's father adonis had called a family meeting due to everyone in the house being there at the same time.something that hadn't happened in a while.
"mom we live together we spend time with eachother everyday." talia complained.she understood where her parents were coming from but she still feel like because all the kids were teens and have their own schedules now they spent more time with their parents than any kid did at their age.
"i agree with lea." kareem chimed in.brooke looked at her siblings she didn't know whether to agree with her siblings or tell the truth."what about you brooklyn?" adonis questioned looking at his youngest.
brooke winced at her father calling her by her birth given name.he rarely ever called the girl that causing her to feel obligated to tell the truth now."well .. moms kinda right we haven't spent actual family time in a while.i mean the only things we do is go to eachother games and eat breakfast and dinner together.i remember when we used to play family game nights every saturday and have cook offs." brooke confessed.
"and i mean reem you and lea see eachother day yall have pratically the same friend group and go to the same school so yall bond is still the same.but sometimes i feel left out considering we only see eachother at home which is rare at that." she continued.both kareem and talia looked at their younger sister both forming sympathy because they never considered how she felt.
"why didn't you tell us you felt that way brooke?" talia asked.if she knew her sister felt that way she would've put more effort into spending time with brooklyn."i mean everyone's been busy.its like everyone has a different concern than just sports and family." brooke replied.
"we thought you were focused on your relationship with jace brookie.you're always our main concern." talia sat next to her sister hugging her.kareem on the other hand had somehow managed to fall asleep which resulted in his mother throwing a pillow at his head."huh?" he question confused.
"go hug your sister." eva insited. kareem walked over to brooklyn and talia confused on which to hug so he just hugged both of them.adonis and eva smiled proud at the kids they raised.

"JACE YOU can't keep coming up to my house at night and throwing rocks at my window." brooke complained.it was currently 12 am and once again for the third night in the row jace had shown up to the young girls house.
"brooklyn listen, im sorry i didnt mean to stand you up or hurt you.i want to tell you everything because i promised crystal.and im obligated to be her 24 hour person.but i don't want to lose you." jace really cared about brooke and didn't want to lose her.
"crystal this crystal that jace have you ever thought about how i feel? have you ever realized how much effort i put into this.i've been second choice to crystal since forever.you keep putting her feelings before mine." brooklyn bit the inside of her cheek.she never liked when her emotions took over her words or actions
"im sorry brookie, im really sorry." jace pulled brooke into a hug as tears dropped down the girls face.brooke pushed jace back."no, we're done.im not doing this no more jace.i shouldn't have to fight for attention in my own relationship." brooke took a step back before leaving jace on her porch again.
jace stood on her porch his face buried in his hands.the boy regretting how he treated brooke. he never realize what he had till he lost it.brooke stood next to her downstairs door contemplating if whether she should either hear the boy out or keep her word.she unblocked jace and decided if he texted she would reply due to her regretting blowing up on the boy.

BROOKE STAREDat jace as he sat down on the bench by himself.she didn't know if she should walk in or what.but she felt like she owed herself to get a explanation.she knew jace had been refusing to tell her what happened but she decided she'll try one last time before giving up.
"jace." brooke walked closer to jace tapping his shoulder.he turned his head seeing a concerned brooke."you listened to my voicemail?" he asked.brooke gave him a confused look shaking her head.
"jace im giving you this last time to explain to me before i cut you off for good." brooke moved on instead of focusing on the voicemail she never received."brooke i can't all i can tell you is something happened to crystal and i felt the need to protect her." jace wanted to protect crystal's secret but at the same time he wanted his girl back.
"is she ok?" even if brooke didn't like crystal she would never want anyone to feel any type of pain no matter what it was.jace nodded his head. brooke decided to sit next to jace grabbing his hand before asking."so what did you do to protect her?"
jace didn't know if he should tell her what he did.he wanted to protect his teammates because he did rope them into everything but at the same time he didn't want to lie to her."i didn't do anything brooke." jace lied.he knew he would regret lying to brooke one day but at the same he felt as if he was protecting her.
"did you cheat on me with crystal?" she looked down hoping he gave her the answer she wanted but at the same time she hoped he would tell her the truth."no, i didn't even kiss crystal brooklyn." this time jace was telling the truth.brooke sighed before laying her hand on his shoulder.
she decided to trust jace and just let things get figured out."i love you brooke." he lifted brooke's head from his shoulder looking into the girl eyes. "i love you too jace." jace placed a kiss on brooke's lips their fingers interlocking when he did so.
