This book has definitely added more insight to the canon Barne's siblings, so it's time for me to re evaluate them! Yippee!
Basically this means I'm reviewing them in my AU.
Quantum:
SPRATT YOU DOG.
Okay, seriously I am SOOO peeved right now that I like him so much in the new book but canon quantum and my quantum would explode if they saw eachother. So. Not good.
I really do like his character in the book which is making me redesign his entre self in my AU to fit his canon design more! So, if you have read my other stories with him... just ignore it idk.
I really like how socially inept he is! It's even worse than Friday at the beginning of the series but not as horrible as the parents. He's quite stuck in and stubborn. I've compiled a list of things we know from the book:
Incredibly good looking
Golden brown hair
Lanky physique
Permanently irritated manner
"The look of a runway model bored with his own glamour"
VERY MESSY
Not a clue in the fucking world
Takes his work super fucking seriously - glowered at Ms Dekker when getting undermined - doesnt like being away from it either
"Quantum stared at his shoes" - like his father
Everything is revolved around his work
Defensive of his parents? Seems like hes the one that takes after them the most. Was the first to say hed look after his mum
Catty - very snippy - very sassy
Likes food - probably very incompetent when it comes to cooking
Biggest genius at cern - more intelligent than his mother - possibly the smartest Barnes
Love idiot - doesnt know shit about women.
The one most like his parents - fully focused on science since the beginning
Despises halley for turning on their parents
Halley -
She's such an 2000's older siblings that despised their younger siblings like Roderick from Diary of a wimpey kid. She also reminds me of Jennifer Check from jennifer's body. I like her being the 'villain' one thats really just a product of her upbringing.
Self absorbed
Has the capacity to have a boyfriend but he seems just as bad as her
Rude
Disregards fridays passions
Plain bitch
Would make her younger siblings cry on purpose
More focused on her work than anything
A parallel to Friday - most like Friday
I'd like to imagine she had a passion different to science as well but that got squashed so she quite resents Friday for being able to go through with hers
Resents whole family - especially Friday because she sees herself in her and Quasar because she's sick of her 'older sister' act
Onto Quasar and Orion who have been introduced before but briefly so im going off that and my au AND I SWEAR TO GOD SPRATT IF YOU DISPROVE ME IN THE NEXT BOOK ILL CRY.
Quasar:
Motherly figure to an annoying extent - very fake
Dismissive and lowkey ignorant to the harmful acitivty in her family - quite complicit in the bad behaviour - turning away when it happens
Acts older than she is - pretends to be a second mother but is too young to be completely mature about it
Acts all lovey but when it doesn't benefit her or her studies pulls away
Does have a lot of love for her family but doesn;t have the means to show it - would like to bond with friday but doesn't know how to - overcompensates
The only one who actually models.
Was really close to Friday when Friday was super young but as she grew older she drifted away, not finding it fun anymore
Hates orion having his hand at fame and shadowing her.
Orion:
Im thinking of shoving all of my original quantum thoughts onto him so
Extrovert
Liked the idea of having a really young sibling to show off but said he was too busy to actually hang out with Friday.
Super overprotective in a 'duty' and 'because I can' way and not because he's actually worried
The one who has drifted the most with science. Still works on it when he has to but likes to do formula 1 racing and acts sometimes.
Resents Quantum for being able to stick with science
Quite confident and a bit narcissistic but also the one who genuinely will be of help if Friday needs him to
