5 months later.

"Okay Ms. India, I'm gonna need you to push as hard as you can just a couple more times for me okay? We're almost done." The doctor said on the other side of the strategically positioned blanket. I mean I've seen what her pearl looks like but not to this capacity. I'm fighting for my life over here. You got this Sean, your boy is almost here.
My thoughts were interrupted by the hardening of India's grip on my hand as she pushed with all her might just one last time.
"Good job Ms. India!" The doctor exclaimed, holding the softly crying baby in her hands.
"Dad? Would you like to cut the umbilical cord?"
The word dad hit me like a ton of bricks to a point I couldn't help but stand there motionless. My baby boy was finally here!
I snapped out of my trance and walked over to where the doctor had him positioned for me to successfully make my incision. I took the medical scissors and clipped his umbilical cord. A round of applause filled the room, as the doctor wrapped my boy up in a blanket and handed him to his mother.
"Congratulations to you Ms. India, you delivered a healthy baby boy. God bless to everyone. I'll be back to come check on you." The doctor said leaving the family with our new bundle of joy.
"Thank you so much doctor, for everything." India said, smiling and laughing with our baby.
Out of the corner I saw my mom walk over to the bedside.
"He looks a lot like you, Sean."
I took a closer look.
"He does look just like me. Full head of hair too, must get that from me." I said playfully fluffing my hair.
"Boy don't let this bonnet fool you, my baby got he mommy good hair." India retorted snuggling our baby boy.
A laugh erupted through the room. Everyone had showed up and showed out for the three of us. My mom, her mom, my brothers, her sisters, her pops. There was one person that wasn't quite present, but I extended that offer for him to meet his grandson, but the bastard never replied. I shrugged my shoulders at the very thought. Oh well, his loss.
"Came up with a name yet, baby?" India's mom asked, breaking the silence.
"Julian Sean Conwell." She said back proudly, smiling at me. I really felt like the luckiest man in this hospital.
I did a little victory dance that only India seen. She chuckled a bit.
"Yall hungry? We should all give the newly formed parents a minute to themselves. You want somethin' baby girl?" My mom asked.
"A burger and fries, please."
My mom nodded in agreement. "Burger and fries it is. Well be right back, come on yall." I turned to watch everyone exit out of the room and walked over closer to India when the door finally clicked shut.
"Thank you, Ma." I said, caressing her cheek.
She blushed a bit.
"For what bae?" She said, handing Julian to me.
"For making him, and making me his father."
"Awe, you're welcome. I know you'll make me proud."
"I promise I will."
She yawned and said, "You wanna make me proud right now?"
I laughed, kinda knowing where this was leading.
"Always, babe."
"Hold him while I take a nap? Pushing out that little bundle of happiness got a bitch tired tired."
She sighed and turned slightly over to wrap the blanket around her.
"I got you Mama, say Daddy got it Mama." I said slowly taking a seat beside her bed.
I watched her doze off while holding Julian in my arms. It really was a sight to see, my son sleeping soundly just like his mother. My two heartbeats. I looked down at the familiar face and couldn't help but let a tear escape.
I hope you can hear me Son, you won't ever have to worry about a thing, long as I'm yo' Daddy I'll always make sure your good. My boy. My twin, my copy paste. Damn if he doesn't look just like me. Thick ass eyebrows, even thicker eyelashes that I'm sure he'll grow to dislike too. And them eyes, seemed like mostly every other feature on his face was mine, but them eyes? All India's. That beautifully structured hazel brown slightly coated with a pinch of green could only come from India. Nonetheless, he was perfect in my eyes. I let them two sleep until it was time to go, for our journey was just beginning.
