Ji-Su found herself inside the daycare sitting next to Eun-Hyuk.
"How is Hyun-Su?" She asked.
"I visited him an hour ago." Eun-Hyuk replied with a deep sigh. His eyes were cast in front of him, and with a quieter voice, he added, "he doesn't remember."
Ji-Su felt her heart ache.
Hyun-Su was her friend and seeing him forget everyone, seeing him forget Hae-Rin, it hurt.
"How much does he remember?" Asked Ji-Su.
"I'm not entirely sure." Eun-Hyuk replied honestly, shrugging a little. "He looks like he doesn't remember anything, but there was something in his eyes when I talked to him. I think he can remember something really small."
"If he can't remember," Ji-Su mumbled quietly. "I want him to forget all the bad memories."
She glanced at the sleeping Hae-Rin and sighed.
Hae-Rin had watched Mr. Han die in front of her, and even then, she didn't blame Hyun-Su. She avoided him, yes, but she didn't scream out curses at him or yell his name. It seemed like she was keeping the things the old man had told her dear to her heart. Ji-Su had heard him when he told Hae-Rin not to blame herself or Hyun-Su so she could see that Hae-Rin was trying to listen to him.
"Eun-Yoo's looking over him now." Eun-Hyuk said. "I left her with him so that I can check up on Hae-Rin. There's going to be breakfast soon. We have only a little bit left, and then we are out."
Ji-Su frowned, wondering why was Eun-Hyuk changing the subject all of a sudden when she noticed Hae-Rin stir.
She was awake and listening.
"We need to go outside." Ji-Su added, playing along. "Fuck."
"Unfortunately."
Ji-Su watched as Hae-Rin sighed and sat up.
"Oh, Hae-Rin, did we wake you?" Ji-Su asked, voice softer than previously.
