"Hai?"

I look at my Chachi who just told me,

"You aren't meeting Rana Sa until marriage. No phone calls. No meets."

I had just come back from my shopping with Abhi. Aur mera ate hi inhone mere pe ye bomb gira diya!

"Kya hai? Taara, tum unse nhi mil sakte saadi tak. Riwaz h. Aur wase bhi 15 din ki hi toh baat hai."

(What what? You aren't meeting him until marriage. It's a ritual. And it's only a matter of 15 days.)

"15 din." I stretched those words.

(15 days)

Ha ha, mein janti hu, tum log rhi soch rhe hoge ki kitni desperate ho rhi h. 15 din hi toh h. Aur woh bhi abhi abhi toh mile ho. Itna kyu acting. Right?

(Yah! I know. How can this be possible? We had just met and now we're getting married. And can't stay away from him for just 15 days?)

It's right, though!

Par tum logo ko jab pyar hoga na toh pata chal jayega.

(But the moment you'll love someone with your heart you'll know what desperation is.) (No offence to anyone please.)

"Mujhe nhi pata. Bas nhi mil sakte."

(I don't know. You just can't meet each other. Yet.)

"Ok, Chachi."

"Ohh ohh ohh, Madam. Mummy ispe itni jaldi bharosha mat kar lena. Aap jate ho na ye kaisi hai."

(Oh oh oh...mom. don't believe her. You know how she is.)

Rahul bhai said from where he was leaning on the couch. Enjoying.

I send him a glare.

"Aap kyu beech mein padh rhe ho."

(Why are you getting in-between us?)

"Chup kar."

(Shut up.)

"Chachiii. Chachu kaha h?" I asked looking around.

(Aunt. Where's Uncle?)

Mein chachu ko bolugi. Ye log mera sath asa kaise kar sakte h.

"Woh apne department jaye h. Tum log ki tarah faltu nhi h."

(He's at his work. He's isn't jobless like you.)

"Mummy mein kaha faltu hu." Rahul bhai defended himself.

(Mommm.)

"Nikame ho aap," I said, narrowing my eyes.

(You are.)

He was about to say something but Chachi beat him to it saying,

"Abh tum dono start mat ho jana. Bhut saara kam baki h. Time nhi h humre pas." Chachi said walking towards the kitchen.

(Now, don't you get it started. We have too much to do. No time for your antics.)

"No phone calls, Taara. And no meets." Chachi threatened me with her words, stretching the word no with clear indication.

Phone kaha h mera?

(Where's my phone?)

I took my phone out of the purse I was carrying. Dialing chachu.

"Chachu..."

"Mein janta hu, Bacha. Par aapki Chachi jo bol rhi h woh bilkul sahi h. Aap unki baat man lo."
