📍 Camelot

June, 506 AD

Arthur sat to his father's right, taking forkfuls out of his fruit bowl while constantly sneaking glances at Astraea, who sat in front of him curled up in her chair with her Avengers blanket hanging from her shoulders. He felt frustrated that, for some reason, Morgana took the younger girl's usual place beside him, so now he could only stare at her, unable to take in her sweet scent or hold her hand under the table.

Astraea seemed lost in another dimension while Uther rambled on about the daily news, her mind too busy with picking at a loose thread that had separated from the fabric of her black and red plaid PJ pants just above her knee. The Prince couldn't help but grin at the look of absolute concentration on her face. His eyes slowly traced the slight wrinkles that had formed on her forehead as her face contorted into an easy frown, then they trailed down to watch the way in which her teeth nibbled on her bottom lip, where he paused for a second while wishing he could stop the action with a kiss, and when the tingling sensation in his stomach became a bit too prominent, his gaze travelled to the stray strand of hair that kept falling onto her face, causing her to periodically blow at it, never finding success in getting it to stay away for good.

"What news from the northern borders?" Uther's inquiry snapped Arthur out of his staring trance. Lucky for him, the King was too concentrated on the document before him to notice what he had been staring at.

"Uh, there have been a number of minor skirmishes," Arthur replied almost disinterestedly. Then his gaze returned to the girl in front of him, who had since grabbed a knife to aid her attempts to rid herself of the loose thread.

Morgana glared at Astra, not having missed the puppy eyes that Arthur was making at her.

"Do you think Odin is testing our defenses?" the King asked his son. Then he dropped the document in his hands and looked at him when he got no response. "Arthur, are you listening?!" he growled, making both Arthur and Astra snap out of their respective trances.

"What?" the Prince asked, sporting a dazed look on his face as he reached for his cup of coffee. His eyes strayed from the cup to the girl in front of him, who seemed amused at his lack of concentration as she smirked at him mockingly, and he accidentally caused the mug to tilt and spill some of the brown liquid onto the table cloth.

"What on Earth is wrong with you?!" Uther snarled.

Arthur jolted and his eyes widened while his cheeks reddened in embarrassment.

The very entertained Merlin and Gwen hurried to clean up the spilled coffee.

"Clumsiness is my thing, get your own!" Astraea quipped with a giggle. Arthur sent her a playful glare, causing her to wink in response.

Morgana couldn't help but grimace as she began to feel a bit nauseated from watching the exchange. The pair are completely in love with one another and Uther is entirely unaware of it! She has to get rid of the meddling foreigner before she becomes a bigger problem for her ambitions...
