Lilith let out a deep breath upon entering the penthouse, juggling a hefty bag of art supplies that threatened to topple over.

Standing in the middle of the living room, bathed in the warm glow of fairy lights, were Tyler, Laura, Julia, Oliver, and Ryle. Banners proclaiming "Happy 18th Birthday, Lilith!" hung on the walls, and a giant cake, its frosting a dazzling swirl of purple and white, sat proudly on the table.

Tears welled up in her eyes. "Oh my god," she whispered, the bag slipping from her grasp with a soft thud. "You guys..."

Tyler was the first to reach her, engulfing her in a tight hug. "Happy birthday, little sis!" he exclaimed, his voice thick with emotion.

Julia offered a genuine smile and a warm hug. "Happy birthday, girly." she added with a wink.

"Happy birthday, beautiful," Ryle whispered, pulling Lilith into a warm embrace. The scent of his cologne, a comforting blend of citrus and wood, filled her senses.

A warmth spread through her chest as she realized he must have orchestrated the entire surprise. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice muffled by his shirt, "it's perfect."

Ryle chuckled. "Just like you," he teased, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

The evening unfolded in a whirlwind of laughter and reminiscing.  Tyler regaled them with tales of his latest travel adventure, while Laura recounted Rose's latest exploits in vivid detail.

Little Rose, a whirlwind of energy, latched onto Ryle, demanding to see all the "cool stuff" in his penthouse.  He patiently complied, leading her on a tour, much to Lilith's amusement.

As the night wore on, the guests began to filter out. Oliver surprised Lilith with a small package.

"This is for you," he said, a hint of shyness in his voice. "Just a little something."

Lilith accepted the gift. She opened it to find a framed photo they took when they first met. "Thank you, Oliver."

He offered a small smile.  "I'll be leaving for America tomorrow.  Starting medical school, finally."

A flicker of sadness crossed Lilith's face, but Oliver quickly dispelled it.  "It was good meeting you, Lilith.  I'm glad I got to know you."

With a final handshake, Oliver bid farewell, leaving Lilith with a strange mix of emotions.  The last goodbyes were said, hugs exchanged, and soon, the penthouse was bathed in a comfortable silence.

Lilith eagerly tore into her gifts.  Julia's gift was a set of sleek black frames perfect for showcasing Lilith's artwork.  Tyler, ever the observant brother, presented her with a book titled "The Language of Body Language," a playful nod to her burgeoning interest in psychology.  Laura, bless her heart, had gotten her a brightly colored t-shirt that declared her the "Best Aunt Ever" in glittery letters.  Lilith couldn't help but laugh.

Ryle watched her with a smile, then asked, "Wondering what I got you?"

A playful glint entered her eyes.  "Should I be?"

He chuckled.  "Close your eyes, birthday girl."

Intrigued, she did as he instructed.  His hand clasped hers, leading her through the apartment.  A moment later, he stopped.

"Alright, open them."

Lilith blinked, her jaw dropping in surprise.  Perched regally on his desk sat a sleek, grey British Shorthair cat.  Its orange eyes gleamed with curiosity, and a gentle purr rumbled in its chest.

"Oh my," she breathed, her heart overflowing with love.  She knelt before the cat, who rubbed its head against her hand, letting out a soft meow.  "Is this...?"

"This is Lucy," Ryle confirmed, a grin splitting his face. "She's from a shelter. One year old, abandoned by her previous owners."

Lilith scooped the cat into her arms, burying her face in its soft fur. tears of joy threatening to spill again.  "She's perfect, Ryle. Thank you so much!"

Ryle chuckled, watching her gently stroke the purring cat.  "It seemed fitting. A new friend for you."  He smiled.

They were both on Ryle's kingsize bed. Lucy, nestled between them, purred in agreement. Ryle chuckled, a soft sound that warmed Lilith.

Silence stretched between them, comfortable and familiar. Lilith got up and picked a paintbrush to finish  her latest painting. "You know," she said, dipping the brush in blue, "I was just thinking about majors."

Ryle listened intently, as he reached for the painkillers next to his bed. He took two pills before lying down and placing a pack of ice on his eyes.

"Art school? What a surprise! " Ryle quipped, but the humor didn't quite reach his voice.

Lilith snorted. "Funny. But no, I was thinking psychology. Art's more of a..." she trailed off, searching for the right word.

"Passion?"

"Yeah, a passion. I wouldn't want it to become a chore," Lilith agreed. "Have you decided between psychology and law yet?" She asked.

"Law," Ryle replied instantly. He shifted closer, his hand reaching out to trace the curve of her cheek. He felt her face intently, before brushing is thumb against her plump lips. "You're incredible with art, Lil. Maybe one day, you'll paint something so vivid, so full of emotion, I can feel it."

A shiver ran down Lilith's spine. The desire in his voice, the vulnerability, was a silent plea.  She captured his hand with hers, feeling the warmth spread through her.

"Maybe I already have," she whispered, leaning in.

Their lips met in a kiss that was soft, yet spoke volumes. It wasn't about sight, it was about the way his touch sent shivers down her spine, the way his frustration mirrored hers, the way his presence filled the room with a warmth brighter than any star in the vast expanse above them. It was about feeling seen, understood, loved – completely and utterly.

They pulled back, foreheads touching. In the quiet intimacy, Ryle spoke, his voice hoarse. "Tell me about the stars, Lil. Tell me what colors they are tonight."

Lilith smiled, a secret language blooming between them. And as she described the constellations, the inky blues and shimmering whites, she knew Ryle wasn't just seeing the stars,  he was seeing her.

The kiss lingered on their lips, a silent promise hanging in the air. Lucy, ever the opportunist, nudged her head between them, mewing for attention. Lilith giggled, scratching the cat behind the ears.

"Alright, alright, little miss jealous," she teased.

Ryle chuckled, the sound washing away the tension that had settled upon him. "Maybe she wants to hear about the stars too."

He reached for Lilith's hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. The familiar warmth sent a spark through her.  Lilith looked at the glass ceiling, the vast expanse of glass revealing the breathtaking stars and the soft glow of moonlight.

With each word, she painted a picture not just with her voice, but with her touch. Her hand would brush against his arm as she pointed to a specific star, her fingers lingering slightly longer than necessary. Her voice would soften when she spoke of the vastness of space, a hint of awe weaving into her words.

Ryle listened intently, his imagination taking flight. He closed his eyes for a moment, picturing the colors she described, the emotions woven into her voice. He didn't need sight to see the stars, not tonight. He could feel them, shimmering in the vast canvas of her love.

"It's beautiful," he murmured, his voice filled with a quiet wonder.  "More beautiful than anything I could ever imagine seeing."
