I just comforted him when he cried and cried. Nang matapos siya, he immediately said na kailangan niyang lumabas para magpahangin. I offered him my company but he refused. I really do understand that he needs alone time.
Well, everybody needs that. A temporary space where you can think.
Dahil nga sa sakit ng ulo na naramdaman ko kanina, nakaramdam ulit ako ng pagod. Agad akong humiga para makapagpahinga na lang ulit.
"Nak, do you remember our game? Tagu-taguan?"
"Yes mom" Sabay naming sabi ni kuya.
"Do you want to play right now?" Tanong ni mommy habang hawak kami sa palapulsuhan ni kuya, pababa ng elevator ng bahay.
"Yes po" Sabi ni Kuya.
Nang makarating na kami sa basement, pinasakay niya kami kaagad sa backseat ng sasakyan at nasa pintuan naman si mommy.
"Mga anak, lets play tagu-taguan okay? Si daddy kasi ang taya kaya wala pa siya dito. But whatever happens, wag na wag kayong lalabas."
Me and my brother just nodded.
I saw my mother's eyes. She kissed our foreheads and said "I love the both of you so much" before closing the door of the car.
Tinignan ko naman si Kuya na parang wala sa sarili. "Hey kuya, don't you want to play with mom and dad?" I asked him
"Let's just wait for them sister-mine.", he replied and gave me a lollipop that he got from his small packet. "Eat this first while we wait."
"Yehey! Thank you kuya!" I screamed happily.
Naubos ko na ata yung lollipop kaso wala pa din sila mommy at dad. Minutes later, nakarinig kami ng sunod-sunod na putok ng mga baril.
I was shocked at that moment that I started crying, buti na lang at niyakap agad ako ni kuya.
"Please kuya, make it stop. Stop it kuya."
I was begging for it to stop kaso isang malakas na alog sa balikat ang nagpagising sakin.
Paggising ko, nandon na si Andrei tsaka kuya niyang si Sir Levin. I do not know what urged me to hug him. I find it comforting every time I'm around them.
Hindi ko na nga rin napansin na nanginginig na ang mga kamay ko at pawisan na din ako.
"Hey, you okay? I woke you up kasi kanina ka pa umiiyak sa tulog mo." Sabi sakin ni Andrei.
"Nightmare?" Sir Levin intervened.
I just nodded. Still trying to remember my dreams.
"Mind asking you? Do you get that a lot?" Sir Levin asked again.
"Hindi naman na ganon kalala, tulad ng dati. Ngayon na lang ulit." I replied.
He nodded like getting the whole context of whats happening. "Here, get this" Sabay abot sakin sa earpiece niya at iniwan ang phone sa table.
Kahit naguguluhan, tinanggap ko pa din yon at tinignan siya. "I also have nightmares a lot, but that helps". Sabi niya sabay turo sa earpiece na hawak ko. "I'll take my leave then, take care of both of you." Sir Levin said before tapping Andreis shoulder and leaving.
Because of curiosity, pinakinggan ko kung anong tugtog sa earpiece na binigay niya. And when I wore the piece, the chorus of the song played.

I'll be the greatest fan of your life
Napapikit na lang ako ng matapos ang linyang yon. I also find that song comforting. Pinapatugtug ko din yon tuwing mag-isa ako.
"It seems that you and Kuya Lev have the same taste in music". Zyie said and I opened my eyes.
I chuckled, "I guess you can say that."
