Chapter 19

I got ready for work and went downstairs, The maids already finished their work and are about to leave, I checked the kitchen to see if Nadia is there but she is not, maybe she is sleeping. She made breakfast for me though so she is not sleeping, I know she is not

I eat and went to work, when I came back, Nadia was sitting in the living room but she leave when she saw me coming in, not saying a word to me. I freshen up and came down hungry, there's food on the dining table.

Everything is there but it feels empty because Nadia is not, she usually serve me food and always keeps me company when eating, telling me about her day and memories

I eat quietly and wash the dishes when I'm done because she doesn't like to keep dishes dirty or wait till morning and then I retire to my room, when I came back from the mosque after Isha'a, I can smell the aroma of food coming from the kitchen. I went in to find Nadia cooking pasta, i salaam-ed and she answered not looking at me. I sat on a chair looking at her, I know she can feel my eyes but she ignores

After she finish cooking, she served me and was about to leave when I stopped her  "Come and sit down" she stop on her tracks but she didn't came back "come here and sit down" i said pulling a chair, she sat but didn't say a word. "Are you not going to eat?" I asked but she ignored making me repeat myself "I am not hungry" she said her attention on her phone, Nadia didn't look at me today, not even once.

"Look, I'm sorr-" I started but she cut me off "if you are done eating, can I go?" She said coldly with no emotion. Omg how do I solve this issue, I nod at her saying "You can go" she stood and leave. We usually watch TV after dinner but today I work in my office because I know Nadia is not coming

The next 2 days are the same, I only see her few times and she is still giving me a silent treatment when I try to apologize to her she cut me off walking away but she cooks and clean my room when I leave without cleaning it. Today is going to mark as three days and I have to put an end to it

I knocked at her door, she opened and went back inside sitting at the edge of the bed, I sat next to her, "Nadia" I called and she didn't answer, "Nadia" I called out again and she didn't answer "You know It is not lawful for a Muslim to stop talking to his brother (Muslim) for more than three days right?" I had to say because I know she is not going to talk to me, she remains silent but she didn't stop me from talking or try to leave so that's a sign to go ahead

"I swear wallahi I didn't know Anisa was coming, I just saw her wallahi, you know I can't disrespect you like that" I said and she nod saying "Ok but what about the Jewelry, where did she get it?" "The day we went to Anty Hauwa's, I talked with Anisa and that's when she took it and then we fought, I was so angry that I forgot to get it back, and when I remembered it was late and you were angry that day, that's why I told you it was in the car. I wanted to get it back but things happened " "But Wallahi I didn't give it to her" i said and she nod "Okay" "I am so sorry please" I said almost desperately "Forgive me" and she nod "It is okay" "Do you forgive me?" I asked and she nod again "Yes, Now can you please leave? I want to sleep" "Okay" i said leaving because i know a part of her is still angry with me

"So we are good now" i asked, she kept quiet at first then she says "50/50" "50/50?" I asked and she nod "well it is better than nothing, what do I do now? How do I make you forgive me?" I asked and she shrugged "I don't know, find a way" and I nod "Okay" smiling at her and she looked at me smiling back, My heart filled with happiness

"God, I missed you, I missed your smile, I missed everything about you" i said kissing her forehead and cheeks. "Relax Mister, I haven't forgiven you completely yet so know your limits" she said

I woke Nadia up for fajr, went to mosque and came back then drift back to sleep, I woke up early to make breakfast for Nadia and then get ready for work. I wake her up urging her to freshen up and come down

"Open up, open up" i said delivering food to her mouth "My stomach is full" she whined and I replied "One more" she groaned as she eat

"Here's a card, the code is 0908, go buy whatever you want" I said and she shook her head "No, I don't want your money" "I work hard so i can provide for you, so here you go and the money is ours, spend it all" I said and she smiled "Okay then, I will spend all your money" she said as she collect the card and I laugh saying "you can't and it is our money"

"I will pick you up when I'm off work" i said when I dropped her off at Mami's, I went in to greet Mami and I met Muhammad on my way out, He actually warned, more like threatened me the other day about Nadia, We exchanged words and he went ahead inside

"Hey Princess" He said, Nadia laughed running to hug him "Hi buddy, How are you?" She said as they do their silly handshake "I'm good" He replied "How about you ask your grumpy husband if I can take you out?" He continued and she chuckled looking at me, asking for permission and I agreed making her do little happy dance, I smiled so widely, My wife is so cute I thought making my way out

I was working when I received a message from Zarah, I checked and it is a video of Nadia smiling cutely at the camera, my heart smile

I sent her the money anyways, Zarah is my favorite maybe because I watched her grow and she is one of a kind. So they went out together, I think she have a thing for Muhammad.

I picked Nadia up when I got off work and I heard Zarah and Labiba telling her they are coming over next tomorrow. We got food on our way, arrived home, freshen up and then eat.
"Can we go for a walk?" Nadia asked and I said "Yes, anything you want"

We just came out and I am burning with anger, people shamelessly looking at My wife, i held her hand possessively drawing her close to me "I don't think this is a good idea, let's just go for a drive" i said and she nod

"Watch out-" i said making Nadia throw her head back laughing, I don't know why she think this is funny because it is not, Nadia tricked me into letting her drive, well not tricked she said "Can you please let me drive, I want to drive,  it will make me happy" I have to let because she said it will make her happy but what she didn't tell me was she was planning to kill us cause what kinda of driving is this.

We went to my parent's house, and I could sense something's wrong but I didn't point it out, I saw Laila talking to Nadia, I'm happy they are getting along, Muhammad just dropped Zarah back home. I didn't miss the way he whispered "I love you" to her and she blushed, my jaw dropped because I have never seen Muhammad like this before.

"Hey, what's going on between you and Muhammad?" I said and she feigned ignorance "Muhammad? which Muhammad?" "You know the one I am talking about" i said "Ya Muhammad? Impossible, There's nothing between us" she said and I didn't push it.

I ask Ammi what's wrong and she said "Nothing, Everything is okay" but I know she's hiding something, I can see it. We left after Isha'a prayer

We watched Brave, after finishing the movie, I take Nadia to her room, she gets ready for bed and I said good night turning to leave but she held my hand and then...
