Guilliam shuffled in his chair a bit while he reviewed his notes. After letting out an exasperated sigh, he placed his clipboard down on the table. He then stood up and walked over to grab two bottles of water from the fridge and sat back down while placing one of the bottles in front of me.
(Guilliam: "I uh...I assume you must be thirsty. We've been at this interview for over an hour now. I apologize this is taking so long.")
I nodded and graciously took the bottle, opened it and downed about half it's contents.
"T-Thank you, my throat was quite dry. Is everything okay sir?"
Guilliam placed his elbows on the table and rested his head on his hands.
(Guilliam: "Honestly? No not really...This whole mess has my father stressed out more than usual. Of course, I get the brunt of his verbal assaults whenever something like this happens...")
Professor Blackwood is known for his stern attitude and pure authoritarian aura. I think I've been in the same room as him once and I felt like I could've broken down crying at any moment just feeling the pressure of his presence, and he was only passing through!
"I...I can imagine. I'm sorry that you're ha-having to go through this. If there i-is anything I can do to help..."
Guilliam lifted his head from his palms and nodded.
(Guilliam: "Thank you, Johan. You're definitely doing enough, I appreciate you taking the time to discuss this with me. I know you want to get back to assisting Dr. Smith and the others, so let us try and wrap this up.")
I nodded and smiled at Guilliam.
"What else would y-you like to know, sir?"
(Guilliam: "Well, I guess at this point, we're nearing the moment where the outbreak happened. Can you describe everything you saw?")
"Yes sir. Well, after we finished our observations on the animals in the specimen room..."
~Johan begins to describe his first person account of the events~
Dr. Hazzo went back to the lab to include our latest observations and I stayed behind in the specimen room to do some housekeeping. Dr. Smith went to the opposite end of Sector 3 to investigate the pathowogen storage and retrieve additional samples.
I was petting one of the kittens after cleaning their domicile when I heard the level 5 alarm go off. I quickly made sure all the kittens were back in their place before exiting the specimen room. I ran toward the lab to see if I could find out what was going on.
When I reached the lab, Dr. Hazzo was there frantically typing at the terminal she was using. I rushed over to her side to see if I could learn anything.
"Dr. Hazzo! W-what's going on!?"
Claire looked up at me with a terrified expression.
(Claire: "The systems are indicating a pathowogen leak from tank F.")
"A leak!? How is that possible!?"
(Claire: "I don't know! According to the logs, the tank was serviced yesterday. What's worse...tank F houses the 0621 variant....")
Oh no! The 0621 variant could be lethal for all we know! We need to, oh no, Dr. Smith was down there!
"Have you heard from Dr. Smith!?"
She shook her head from side to side.
(Claire: "No, I tried to call to him on the intercom, but I never got any response.")
"I have to go find him!"
As I turned to go after Dr. Smith, Claire grabbed my arm before I could get away.
(Claire: "Johan! That would be incredibly dangerous! If...if Dr. Smith was down there when the leak sprung, it's probably too late...")
No....no no no he's okay, there's no way something happened to him. I have to help him....I promised Kaida...
"I-I-I can't just wait, I have to go!"
I ripped my arm from her hand and ran toward the door.
(Claire: "Johan!!!")
Claire screaming my name made me halt just before exiting the lab and I met her gaze.
"Dr. Ha....Claire, I promised Professor Smith I would take care of Dr. Smith. I have to go help him."
Dr. Hazzo glared back with more resolve this time.
(Claire: "Okay Johan, you go help Dr. Smith, I'll make sure the Biological Engagement Assessment & Neutralization (BEAN) Team gets here quickly. Please be safe out there.")
"Thank you, Claire. I'll be right back with Dr. Smith!"
