Amaya's POV

The weekend had finally arrived after a hectic week. Today's the day I meet my in-laws and future husband. The thought of my future husband made me blush, I closed my eyes to imagine his face but grey eyes entered my vision instead. I quickly opened my eyes startled. What was that?

I was snapped out of my thoughts by a knock on the door. "Amaya sweetie are you ready yet", mum's voice sounded from behind the door.

"I'll be down soon mum"

"Alright dear, just hurry up. Your dad is beginning to reconsider all this", I laughed at mum's word. Dad had been dreading this day throughout this week. He just couldn't get over the fact of me leaving.

And me? What's gotten over me?, Just a week ago, I was so head over heels at the thought of getting married to my crush and now I'm actually confused. But I shouldn't be, I've liked Lucas for as long as I could imagine and I'm not even sure I'll meet Mr grey eyes again. Just forget about him Maya.

I finished up my makeup while sitting at the vanity. Just light makeup as I packed my her in a half updo. I put on my jewelry and stood up looking at myself in the full length mirror. I wore a nude color sweater gown paired with some black knee length boots. The weather was chilly therefore the choice of my fit.

Once I was content with my fit, I picked up my purse, put some necessities in it, picked up my phone and coat and headed downstairs. Mum was sitting on the couch as dad was pacing up and down. He stopped, walking towards me once he sighted me.

"Why did you take so long flower?, Are you reconsidering?", I smiled at dads worried expression.

"No dad, I'm not. Let's go", I gave him a reassuring smile.

We left the house hopping into the car which was going to take us to the O'Brien mansion. Throughout the car ride, I was just quiet, looking out the window at the first slow fall. It was beautiful, just like every year.

The ride took a while as the O'Briens mansion was located at the outskirts of the city. The mansion was really big and beautiful on the outside. Just how rich are these guys?

The chauffeur opened the door for me as I stepped out. A fleet of stairs before me, at the end of the stairs were a couple who I recognized as Mr and Mrs O'Brien and a little girl beside them probably the age of 13 or 14. Mrs O'Brien held a huge smile on her face. She was really pretty and still looked very much young.

"Natalia"

"Kate", the two women exchanged greetings and hugged like they haven't seen each other in ages. Yeah right.

Dad and Mr O'Brien shook hands and did this weird guys hug. "And this pretty lady must be Amaya.", Mr O'Brien smiled at me to which I returned a smile of my own.

"Good evening sir"

"No no sir, you can call me uncle or dad"

"Okay uncle", I smiled in response.

"You look way more prettier than when we last met. Those photos do you no justice dear", Mrs O'Brien added.

"Thank you aunty. You look so stunning too", I replied truthfully to which she replied with a thank you blushing

"And you must be Lia", I smiled at the girl who just stood behind her parents observing me. She didn't reply, just kept looking at me with an annoyed expression.

"Lia be nice. Say hi", her mum chimed at her.

"Hey", was her short reply before she made her way inside.

"I'm sorry about my daughter, she's nearing her teenage years and it's becoming really hard to handle her", Mrs O'Brien let out a forced laugh.

"We understand Kate, no need to explain", Mum assured her. I on the other hand was worried. Lia didn't happen to like me, I knew Luca's sister was his pride and joy, if she didn't like me would he?

Mrs O'Brien snapped me out of my thoughts by ushering us inside. "Luca would be here soon. He's working late today, he's always busy. I told him about the dinner but he sends his apologies for the delay"

"It's okay. We understand, hopefully he'll be less busy once he gets married", Dad forced a smile. I could see that he was trying to reassure himself not to think too much about it.

I looked towards where Lia was seated. I wonder why she doesn't like me. Just as I was still thinking, the front door opened. The first thing I saw was the shiny leather shoe clinking against the tiles, going up to the black suit pants and black button up shirt with the first two buttons open, the silver Cartier necklace and stopping on his face. Gawd he was more hotter than in the magazines.

"Luca!", Lia exclaimed running towards him and hugging him. He held her small body closely, smiling down at her. "You're late. Mum made us wait for you before we ate dinner", she tried to whisper to him. Keyword: tried. Because I'm pretty sure we all heard her.

Luca laughed. "Sure we'll eat soon"

He scanned the room before his eyes met mine. He smirked at me when he found me staring, I couldn't help but blush.

"Good evening", he greeted everyone nodding at my parents in acknowledgement. "Sorry I'm late, I got caught up in work"

"It's okay son, we understand", It was mom who spoke.

"Okay everyone is here, my other sons won't be able to make it as they aren't in the country right now. So can we eat?", Mrs O'Brien said.

"Finally", Lia cried out dragging Luca to the dining with her. It was funny seeing her trying to drag a full grown man, Luca made it easier for her though.

We all sat at the dining table, coincidentally I was to seat beside Lucas, Lily was at his other side. She humphed once she saw that I was seating beside him. The food arrived, so many dishes were arranged around the table.

"Please enjoy. I didn't know what you guys preferences were so I made little of everything", Mrs O'Brien told us.

We thanked her before we began digging in, by we I mean Lia. Her hands were too short to reach some of the dishes so Luca had to help out. We ate peacefully making small talks in between as Mr and Mrs O'Brien asked me some questions.

"Why don't the couple get to know each other", Mrs O'Brien piped once we were done eating.

I looked at Luca who had on a blank expression. "Sure mom", he stood up extending his hand towards me. I thanked him standing up, I looked down at my small hand that fit in his large ones, I couldn't help but smile. He lead me upstairs and to what looked like an office. Once we were in the safety of the room, he left my hand, I looked down at my hands which had lost the warmth from a few minutes ago.

He sat down behind the desk in his office, his cold demeanor back, very much looking like what he was, a domineering CEO. "So let's cut to the chase"
