Chapter 8 Part 15 The Proverb is in the Pudding Part 1

We proceeded with the journey to the location where Jamie would undergo training. We both

were silent with awkward stares until I stepped in mud and he tried to assist me.

''Why did you tell my grandfather, who I haven't seen in such a long time, that you were not

interested in me?'' I asked.

''I didn't explicitly say that I'm not interested in you, but I was trying to preserve your dignity

by suggesting that we are friends. I apologize if I offended you,'' Luigi responded.

''Are you afraid of my grandfather?" I asked.

"I do not know when last you saw your grandfather, but it is not the same man you knew. He

came looking for something here a few times before and was very aggressive towards the people.

We need to get your friends and hurry back to your parents," Luigi said.

Our synchronized steps portrayed the newfound peace.

Not far off, I could see a glimpse of the temple.

"Finally, we made it," I said.

Upon entering, we found all the students, including Jin and Jamie.

Everyone dressed in samurai attire awaiting an imminent battle. Everyone bowed while Jamie

embraced me.

"It is so good to see you again my friend," Jamie said

Jin and Luigi had a conversation in secret, with Jin's frown turning into a smile when he gazed at

me.

"Wow Jamie, you look amazing. What have you been busy with?" I asked.

"I am a samurai now but you have to tell me how you got tattoos while we were fighting for our lives. Jin trained me like he was trying to kill me to be honest," Jamie replied.

"Everyone please welcome the new artifact holder of the Earli clan, Seulgi Kang!" Jin shouted.

All the students chanted my name, awaiting a speech.

"Thank you, Jin. There will come a time when I will call on each of you to defend that which is

good and pure. I am not strong nor am I fast, but I have companions that will walk the earth with

me. It is because of you guys that I have come this far and will go even further. Here and now I

ask you to follow me into the unknown!'' I proclaimed.

All of them raised their swords as the chanting continued, and we made our way out of the

temple. Jin led them back to the village while we made our way to Ashley in the valley.

My legs had just about enough strength left to start complaining and then collapse under me.

"Is there no other way to travel? We have been walking long distances," I asked.

"I can always carry you if you like," Luigi responded.

I hopped onto his back without a moment's hesitation. Indeed, a muscular man when I placed my

arms around him. His feet moved like that of an animal seems like I had held him back this

whole time.

Jamie was right behind him with his new uniform, trying to keep up with the pace.

Felt like I was being cuddled and my eyes getting heavier by the rhythm. My eyes mimicked my

legs in the giving up competition.

The sudden stop of Luigi awoke me. My eyes glimpsed at his ears, wiggling.

"There is something or someone coming our way, and it is moving fast," Luigi said.

"Can you point toward where the sound is coming from?" Jamie asked.

"From all directions, definitely more than one," Luigi responded.

Unknown forces surrounded us as fog appeared out of nowhere.

Jamie drew his sword immediately while Luigi took me off his back and went back to back with

the samurai.

"I will tell you where the attack is coming from and you just hit in those directions," Luigi said.

"Left, right, left, right, right," Luigi shouted.

Clashing of the sword with sparks that flew everywhere while I stood sleepy and isolated in the

fog. Jamie started to build momentum and his sword oozed out more smoke as it changed colour like a rocket ready to depart.

"Right Jamie right!" Luigi shouted again.

He struck right, but his sword got stuck in the enormous figure before him. In an instant, it

grabbed him around the neck and held him in the air with his feet kicking and searching for the

ground beneath him.

"Jamie!" we both screamed. It was squeezing the life out of him, or that's what we thought, but

all the fog seeped into him as the oxygen left his body.

Jamie's body could imitate a tree. All the fog was gone. A mutated bear with many eyes stood in

front of us. His sword turned to smoke and Jamie slashed its head off.

"There must be more!" Luigi said.

I felt my body lifting from the air. Another had caught me and gave me a bear hug that squeezed

the life out of me.

Both of them tried to rescue me from the clutches of this monster but it hit them both. They kept

trying but it did not allow them anywhere near it.

My life flashed before my eyes. All the heroes of my life was down and out.

"Seulgi, use your power!" Luigi screamed.

"A friend in need is a friend indeed! Cut down my enemy without remorse!" I shouted.

The bear screeched as both its arms got cut off. I took another breath while it stood there

helplessly.

"Prove 6:15 Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed

without remedy," I recited.

The bear fell to the ground with blood everywhere. I filled my lungs with short breaths and

smiled at them.

"I did it!"

My world turned dark and spun out of control.

My soft fair skin met the soil hard.

The proverb was in the pudding.
