CHAPTER 23

“ Where is it?” Ava mumbled under her breath as she rummaged through her traveling box. “ I'm sure I saw it this morning”. She sighed.

It had been a few minutes since Brett left the room and Ava had been looking for her pajamas, she couldn't find them anywhere. She stood up and the thought instantly came to her head, Anne!

She checked her bag for her phone and quickly called her. It rang and after a short while she picked the call.

“Hel-”

“Where is it?!” Ava asked anxiously.

“Where's what?” Anne asked nonchalantly.

“C'mon you know what I'm talking about. I saw you walking away from my room in the afternoon, did you take my pajamas out of my bags?” Ava said quickly.

“Ohh” Anne said at the realization. “ They were a bit bland-”

“Anne!” Ava said, realizing where the conversation was going. “ What do I use now?”

“ Hey, hey, chill. I'm not that evil, I didn't just take it out, I replaced it”. Anne said and Ava could hear the pride in her voice.

“Replaced it with what” Ava said in a low growl.

“Something…more spicy” she giggled. “ It's in the pocket of your red box, bye!” She said quickly and the line went dead.

Ava cursed under her breath as she grudgingly went to her box to see what Anne left her.

Brett was walking down the hallway looking for a balcony to get some fresh air, he desperately needed some, he needed to clear his mind of the provocative thoughts that he had been ignoring for a long while now, he knew staying in the room or seeing Ava in a towel that long wasn't going to help him with that.

He was too busy trying to get through the hallways he didn't realize when he accidentally bumped into someone. The drink the person was holding spilled on his shirt tainting it red, it was a white shirt so it was very visible.

“Damn, dude, you okay?” the guy he had bumped into asked.

“Yeah, I'm sorry”

“ Nah it's fine” The young guy calmly said.

Brett sighed after the guy walked away. What was he doing? He shook his head as if snapping himself out of a trance. Self control had never been an issue to him, it shouldn't become one now. He was going to go back to that room and get some rest, he needed to get back on the road the next morning, he needed to sleep. Rejuvenated he walked back to he and Ava's hotel room and stood by the door for a short while then rang the doorbell to let her know someone was coming in Incase she wasn't done dressing up.

He opened the door and walked in. Ava wasn't in the room, she must be in the bathroom. He looked at his shirt that was stained with the drink and let out a puff of air. He started to take it off.

Brett peeled off his shirt, his well-muscled arms and shoulders on full display. Ava, still in her fluffy robe, stopped in the doorway as the scene unfolded.

As Ava exited the bathroom, Brett stood there shirtless, his toned body reflecting the soft light from the bedside lamp. Her gaze roamed over his broad shoulders and muscular chest, trailing down to a chiseled abdomen. The dim light accentuated each contour, creating an almost mesmerizing visual spectacle.
