Electrocution
Blood3rd Person POV-
Link's small body flew through the air towards the other side of the mountain peak. Time seemed to slow down and he felt a feeling of dread crushing his body. He blinked and regained his senses, and his muscle memory took over. As he nearly reached the ground, his body performed a roll, breaking his fall and barely hurting him.
He groaned quietly and let out a soft exhale before standing up again. There was a small cut on his arm near his shoulder from the fall, but he was otherwise unharmed. He pulled his bow back again, wielding a normal arrow, and aimed it at the Lynel's head. He loosed the arrow, watching it fly through the air and hit the Lynel right on the forehead.
His excitement quickly faded into fear as the Lynel pulled out a bow of it's own and aimed it at Link from across the field.
He frose in place, unsure of what to do. The only preparation he had for Electric Arrows was the Elixir he drank beforehand just in case. He sighed and closed his eyes, mentally preparing himself for the pain he was about to feel. The arrow hit his shoulder, sending shock waves of electricity through his muscles and veins. The shock knocked him backwards off his feet and he collapsed. His muscles began to spasm, and his breath was uneven. He knew Sidon was probably worried about him, and he felt awful for not being able to help him feel any better.
He opened his eyes and saw Sidon, still sitting behind the rock, looking at the scene. The fear in his eyes was obvious as they traveled from the Lynel, then to Link, then back to the Lynel.
"Sidon.." Link breathed out. Their eyes locked from across the field. "Sidon, get back to the Domain. I'll be fine, but that thing will kill you. Don't let it see you." Sidon looked at his friend for a moment before lightly shaking his head.
"I'm not leaving," he spoke quietly. Link's breath shook and he pulled the arrow out of his arm so his muscles wouldn't spasm anymore. He sighed and began to stand up again, but stumbled and fell forward. He caught a glimpse of Sidon, who was watching the Lynel as it walked in the opposite direction than he was in. He hesitated, but began to stand.
"Sidon, don't-" Link groaned quietly. Sidon quickly stood and ran quietly over to his wounded friend, gently picking him up and hiding them both behind the nearest rock.
"Are you okay?" He immediately asked Link. Link nodded.
"I'm fine," he smiled. "I'm not hurt, my body just aches from the electricity." He shook his head and cupped Sidon's cheeks with both hands, forcing him to look at him. "You need to get back to the Domain, though. One hit from those arrows, and you're dead. I can take it, just the same as practically any other arrow." Sidon opened his mouth to speak, but stopped himself. "I'm fine, Sidon," Link reassured him.
They heard the Lynel roar suddenly and Link looked up over the rock. It was looking around the field, searching for something. Link knew that meant it heard them.
"You need to go," he whispered to Sidon as he pulled out his Sheikah Slate. He held the Slate out to Sidon and gestured towards it. "Push the button that says Ne'ez Yohma Shrine," he instructed him. Sidon hesitated, but didn't press the button. He didn't know what it did. "Sidon, you need to push this button," Link said again. Sidon pulled his hand away from it and grabbed his spear.
"No," he breathed. "I'm staying here. You should not have been told to come up here and kill this thing. It's not your job." He stood and threw his spear at the Lynel. Link pulled him down behind the rock before the Lynel could see him, and before they could see if the spear hit it.
Link's hands shook and he sighed. "I can't stop you, can I?" He asked Sidon. Sidon shook his head. Link groaned. "Fine. You can help. But, you have to promise me one thing, for your own safety. If it pulls out a bow, you have to hide. It only fires Shock Arrows, and if it's trying to hit you, it will. You cannot let it hit you with its Shock Arrows." Sidon nodded once and Link handed him the Silver Longsword he had. "You can use this if you don't find your spear."
They both stood, preparing to fight the Lynel together. Link pulled out his bow and shot an Ice Arrow at the beast. It stayed still for a moment, and Link jumped out from behind the rock, managing to mount it. He attacked it with the Lizal Tri-Boomarang and Sidon swung at it with the Longsword Link had given him. The Lynel reared back again, knocking Link to the ground, and swing it's sword at Sidon. The blade barely scratched his arm, but was dangerously close to slicing his torso open. The Lynel ran to the other side of the field, charging at Sidon. It swung at him twice, missing both times.
Link pulled out two of his Remote Bombs; a square one and a circular one. He dropped them both around the field so they were spread apart, then he ran over to where the Lynel was so it would stop attacking Sidon. It swung at Link, who jumped out of the way at just the right moment to release yet another flurry of attacks. Sidon had never seen anything like it.
The Lynel roared and ran around again. Link smiled and pulled out his Sheikah Slate again. The Lynel ran over one of the bombs, which Link exploded while it was on top of it. It ran over the other bomb, which Link also exploded.
The Lynel was staggering now. They were so close. Link took the opportunity to throw his Boomerang at it. The Boomerang hit it dead-on and returned to Link's hand. He smiled triumphantly and the Lynel collapsed forward, exploding in a small poof of purple malice.
He laughed softly to himself and turned to Sidon, who was holding his hand over the small wound on his arm and smiled back at Link. Link took a few breaths to calm himself down enough to think properly
"We.." he paused. "We did it. The Lynel is dead." He hugged Sidon tightly and squeezed him.
"We did it," Sidon repeated. "Good job, Link."
