3rd Person POV

Link sat calmly in front of the Goddess Statue in the Zora's Domain in front of Mipha's monumental statue. He was on his knees, sitting on his heels, with his hands in his lap and his eyes closed. He was praying for the Goddess Hylia to give him more strength so that he could take down Vah Ruta and defeat Calamity Ganon.

It had been a week since Muzu threatened to prohibit Hylians from entering the Domain. Sidon hadn't given him any updates about it, and he was afraid to ask him because he knew they were both stressed; Link, about needing to go and take back all of the Divine Beasts, and Sidon, about Vah Ruta causing so much rain.

"Link?" He heard a soft voice behind him. He turned and smiled at Sidon. "Sorry, did I interrupt something?" Link shook his head.

"No."

Sidon smiled. "Well, I have news for you. I spoke with Muzu today, and he plans on asking my father about him banning Hylians from the Domain." Link frowned.

"Ah.." Link hissed through his teeth. "Have you spoken to your father about it yet?" Sidon shook his head.

"No, I haven't. But, I am allowed to be a part of the decision, so I have a say in what happens as well." Link smiled and stood up.

"Well, that's good, at least," he said. "Oh, Sidon, I've been preparing to take back Vah Ruta soon. I'm almost ready." Sidon nodded at him.

"Alright, Link!" He smiled at him. "Meet me at the East Reservoir Lake when you're ready to go." He quickly hugged Link before leaving for the Reservoir. Link smiled at the prince as he left, and quickly prayed one more time.

Please, Goddess, give me the strength to defeat Vah Ruta and save the Domain.

He stood up and ran to the Inn, where his bag was. He grabbed a Knights Bow, the 25 Shock Arrows he'd gotten during the Lynel fights, a Soldiers Broadsword, and his Zora Armor. He rushed over to the Reservoir.

"Glad to see you're ready to go, Link!" He smiled at him. "Are you ready to do this? Do you have your Zora Armor and enough Shock Arrows?" Link nodded, gesturing to them. "Wonderful! You never cease to amaze, Link! Now then, let us go and appease that Divine Beast as one!" He flipped backwards into the water, resurfacing moments later. Link sat down on the dock, dipping his legs into the water and sliding in. The water was cold, and it tingled his muscles.

Sidon gestured for Link to climb on his back. Link did as Sidon asked, and held onto his shoulders as he explained their plan; Sidon would swim up to the Divine Beast, and Link would ascend the waterfall and shoot the glowing pink orbs on Vah Ruta's back with Shock Arrows. Sidon also explained that Vah Ruta would likely use it's ancient and mysterious powers against them. Link understood the plan perfectly.

They took off through the water towards Ruta, who roared at them as they approached. Sidon swam further away from it, waiting for an opening, explaining to Link that it somehow knew they were there. He began swimming to one of the waterfalls when it created large cubes of ice and threw it at them.

"Can you get rid of that ice?" Sidon asked. Link pulled out his Sheikah Slate and aimed it at the ice, shattering it with the Cryonis rune. Sidon swam up to one of the waterfalls flowing down from Ruta's back, jumping up and flicking Link up into it. He deam up the water, jumping out from the top, and aiming his bow at the pink orbs on Ruta.

Time seemed to slow down as Link pulled back on his bowstring. He loosed the arrow, smiling with satisfaction when it hit hlthe orb, turning it a vibrant green color. He opened his paraglider, which had stopped him from landing roughly on the water.

This happened a few more times, and eventually there was only one more orb that he had to hit. They were both tired, but they were too close to winning to stop now. Sidon swam up to the waterfall, flicking Link up it again. He swam up, jumping off the top. He'd done this a few times already, and he finally got a hang of when to jump. He pulled back his bowstring and aimed at the orb on Ruta's back. He felt his body nearly give out at he fell through the air. He panicked and fired the arrow.

He didn't know if his arrow had hit Ruta because he collapsed into the water, gasping. He covered his mouth with his hands and his lungs burned. He could feel himself sinking, but he couldn't move his limbs. He felt a sudden force pulling him upwards out of the water by his arm. He resurfaced, and Sidon held him close to his body. Link gasped again, coughing the water out of his lungs. He still felt weak, and his chest felt uncomfortable. He could hear Sidon talking, but he couldn't hear what he was saying. His ears were ringing and everything was muffled.

"Link?" He heard after almost a minute. "Are you alright, my friend?" Link nodded softly and opened his eyes and smiled at Sidon.

"Yeah," he sead breathlessly. "I'm alright." They both looked up at Ruta, who was roaring louder than it had been before. "Did- did I hit it?" Link asked.

"You did!" Sidon exclaimed happily. "You, my friend, have calmed the Divine Beast Vah Ruta." Link smiled to himself, almost feeling accomplished. "Are you ready to go inside it and take it back?" Sidon asked Link when Ruta collapsed down into the water.. He hesitated, but nodded slowly. Sidon helped him climb back onto his back and slowly swam over to Ruta.

Link jumped off of Sidon's back and onto a small platform on Ruta's side. He turned and smiled at Sidon.

"Show the enemy no fear. I'll se you back at Zora's Domain. Farewell." Link smiled and felt the ground beneath him shake. Ruta began to stand again, and the platform was lifted upwards, bringing Link with it. "Finish the job, Link.." He quickly waved at Sidon just before he moved out of sight. He sighed when the platform stopped. He stood, stretched, and walked to the small stone tablet just inside of Ruta's body. He placed the Sheikah Slate against it and it chimed at him.

Sheikah Slate authenticated. Travel gate registered to map.

The blue symbol on the platform behind Link chimed and began to glow. He sighed softly, his chest still burnt, and he stepped inside of the Divine Beast.
