Rue slouched, slowly walking towards her room. She stopped close to the door, looking over her shoulder at her mom who was standing with her arms crossed, tapping her toe; she dipped her chin, egging her—'go on, now.' Her expression said.

Rue didn't have to say anything either, her eyes spoke for her—'do I have to?' Big, brown eyes begged through blinks. "Mom." Rue finally said.

"I've already told you, if you don't want to clean don't make a mess."

Rue turned around and reached for the knob. She held onto it for a second, swallowing, before rotating it and pushing forward.

The door gradually opened. And on the other side, a pile of toys lay in the middle, a tent of her blanket just off to the side, by her bed, and crumbs
