She paced around the room holding her pregnancy test, it was positive. She had thousands of emotions flowing through her but she was terrified. She looked at herself in the mirror and just stared, "I'm about to be a mother... I'm about to be a mother... I can't be a mother" she said as she became emotional. She was disappointed in herself because she was pregnant and she wasn't married especially since she wanted to do things differently and she also felt like she wasn't ready to have a baby, she'd only been with her boyfriend for about 8 months and 4 of those months they were just dating.
She walked out of her bathroom and headed down the hall into the kitchen, her boyfriend was singing along to the music playing as he cooked them some lunch.
"I really wanna be with you but I gotta keep it real with you, I can't leave you alone and I know I'm living wrong but I can't let you go!" Buck sang as he plated the food for them both, they were currently hanging out at Acacia's condo. He looked up as he watched her walk back into the open plan kitchen, "You good? I'm just finishing making you this amazing grilled cheese sandwich" he said as he cut the sandwiches up. Acacia jumped up taking a seat on the kitchen island but she didn't speak for a moment, Buck picked up his phone and turned down the music, "AC, what's wrong mama?" Buck asked as he walked over to her, he stood between her legs and as he was about to touch her face he saw the pregnancy test in her hands.
"Whatchu' got that for?" he asked as he looked up at her worried, "I haven't seen my period since early last month and according to my flo' app, I'm 3 weeks late so I decided to check and" she said as she held up the test showing him the results. He stared at the test for a moment trying to process his thoughts, he took a step back looking around the room rubbing the back of his head. "Oh God help me" he said to himself as he walked over to the couch taking a seat. Acacia just sat on the counter watching his reaction, he was just acting out how she felt internally but she wished he was happy, it would've made her feel a little better about having his baby.
"Do you need a moment alone?" Acacia asked as she hopped off the counter, Buck looked up at her and sighed, "I'm sorry, I'm just... I don't know, I didn't expect this but I mean I know what happens when you have sex" he said as he fell back on to the couch, "So your having my baby.." Buck said looking over at Acacia who was staring at the test. "I guess I am" she said as she walked towards the couch placing her test on her coffee table, Buck pulled her over to him and she laid her head on his chest.
"How you feeling about this? I'm scared right now and a little disappointment in myself if I'm being honest" Buck said, "Why?" she asked, he sighed "I've been feeling guilty since we slipped up and slept together you know, especially since we both said we were going to wait till marriage and now I'm having my second child out of wedlock but nobody's perfect you know" Buck said honestly, he was very vocal and honest with Acacia, there wasn't anything he wouldn't tell her.
"I definitely feel the same way and I'm just worried about what type of mother I'm going to be, I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm scared I'll be bad at it" she said, Buck gently grabbed her face looking at her "You've got nothing to be scared of, I know you'll be a great mom. The way you're with Malik, I just know you gon' be straight" Buck said before pecking her lips a few times and kissing her until he pulled away as he felt himself getting a little carried away. "Let me stop before I get carried away" Buck said making Acacia smile, "That's how we ended up in this position" Acacia said making him laugh.
"We got this mama, were gonna raise and love this baby together" he said as he hugged her, "I love you" she said, "I love you more" Buck responded.
Months later
