Bad idea! {Paige Bueckers}

Part 2

I slept very very good after yesterday's long and stressful day. But I had to get up so early because they had morning practice this morning. Who decided that morning practices start at 7:00 am. That is ungodly. So here I was 6:55 sat in the gym waiting for the rest of the team and coach to show up. As I waited I was unpacking my bag getting out my IPad and note book with all my color coded pens. As I was doing this a couple of the girls walked up to me and started a conversation. "Hey girl how you doing?" Kk asked me. "Why does your guys practice have to start so early?" I questioned. "Ohhh I forgot this is your first morning practice, yea today's gonna be rough girly pop". Kk added. But Azzi butted in "don't listen to kk she's dramatic you'll probably just need caffeine after this and you'll be fine". "Uhg I am so not dramatic" kk said as she made her way back onto the court. This made me laugh because I think anyone with eyes and ears could tell kk was just a little dramatic. Azzi soon returned to the court to as Geno and Paige entered the gym.

Genos arrival marked the start of practice but because Paige was late walking in he waited a few moments before officially starting practice. Today was the day I would begin my interviews with the the girls so I could properly get to know them before I began to media train them and so I would know how they actually act to be sure it is reflected in the public eye. As they began stretching Geno told them that today I would begin my interviews, and that he would send one of them over to me when I was ready. Once they were almost finished stretching he looked at Nika pointing to me, signaling she would be the first to be interviewed.

As she made her way over from the court Nika took a seat infront of me as she introduced herself.  "Hi I'm Nila Muhl" "Nice to formally meet you I'm Chloe." "So today I'll just be asking you a few simple questions so I can get to know you better, so I can properly portray you in your media." "Sounds great" Nila responded back.                 

Before I knew it my interview was over with Nila it only took about 30 minutes. Though I  felt after only those 30 minutes I  already knew the girl so much better. She's kind but strong willed and puts her all into her career she's very grateful to be where she is today but she misses Croatia so much. I know that I'm gonna be very close with these girls very soon.

Before I knew it I had finished interviewing ice kk and Nika. For it being my first day doing real media interviews I feel pretty good with my turn out. As I finished my interview with kk Geno called the girls in for the end of practice huddle. I began to pack up my stuff as a few of the girls came up to me. "Hey do you wanna grab lunch with us" Azzi asked me. "Sure" I responded back. "Ok we're gonna go change out of these clothes brb." Azzi added as her and the bulk of the girls headed to the locker rooms but yet again one tall blonde remained in the gym making her way up to me. "How come you didn't interview me today?" She questioned with a smirk on her face.

"Hey it's all up to Geno, you probably were just missing to many shots he thought you need more practice". I said even though I knew that was not the truth I watched her all practice and she was so good. "Yea right I know you saw me sinking those threes I could feel you watching me". "What me no I have no clue what you talking about". I said turning my face away from her as I felt a blush creep up onto my cheeks. "So how come you followed me on Instagram?" I asked As she made her way closer to me. "Because your pretty I thought we already established that". She said as she turned on here heel and headed towards the locker room.

As I walked into the locker room Azzi gave me a side ways look like "you better quit flirting with the new girl". And that's exactly what she said to me after I questioned her look. "Hey I can't help it that the new media girl is hot, also is she coming to lunch with us?" "Yes she is but that doesn't mean you get to sit and chat it up with her all lunch we all want to get to know her to. Plus we all decided you can't hook up with her because that would just make it weird for the whole team." "What since when did you guys decide who I can and can't hook up with?" "Since she is our media manager, come on Paige your Paige Bueckers there are so many other girls begging to get under the sheets with you." "You're not wrong but, she's different I can just feel it." "Well stop feeling it" Azzi said ending the conversation and walking out of the locker room.

After i left the locker room I realized the whole group was waiting on me to go to lunch so I sped up my walk and made my way to the group as quickly as I could. We headed to the dining hall to get lunch because everything else off campus is at least a 5 minute walk and we were all starving from practice.

Once we made our way into the dining all I immediately made my way over to the counter severing pasta and pizza. I got one slice of cheese and a heaping pile of fettuccine Alfredo. As I paid I looked over and saw that some of the girls including Chloe had already sat down at a table so I made my way over. As I walked over I saw kk coming over to and there were two open spots left one next to Ice and the one next to Chloe. So I sped up my walk to be sure I could sit next to her.

"Hey" she said as I set my plate down next to her and took my seat. "Hey" I said back. "So what's your major"I asked her realizing I really knew nothing about her. "I'm majoring in business marketing and minoring in biology." "Oh so you're like really smart" "what no I just like science". "Yea that means your smart" "well then what are you majoring in?" " psychology, but I have no idea what I'm gonna do with a degree when I'm playing in the wnba." "How do you know that you'll be playing?" "I mean come on Chloe look at me I'm meant to be a professional athlete" "yeaaaa sure" she said turning towards Azzi.

"If you ask me I think I'll get drafted to a better team than Paige" Nika butted in. "Oh no way I'm #1 hooper." I said right back. "Oh really I thought #1 is Caitlyn Clark?" "Alright alright" I said hoping to end the conversation about who's better.

After we finished lunch we all started to go off in our separate ways but I stoped Chloe as she walked out of the dinning hall. "Hey umm it was really nice talking to you today, you should follow me back on insta so I can dm you later." I added trying not to sound so desperate. "Maybe I will, see you tomorrow Paige". She said as she walked away out of sight.
