Chapter 2: The Truth About Potatoes
Potatoes. Les pommes de terre. Vegetables that grow underground. This is, of course, pretty common knowledge. Many who read this book have made a potato battery before. If not, they have probably eaten one. The thing is, there is something about potatoes that scarcely a person knows.
Potatoes are actually the toes of Potaes! Unbelievable, right? I'm afraid it's true though. What we thought all this time was a vegetable was actually a dismembered animal toe! And the roots are the hair of Potaes!
Now you may ask, What is a Pota? Well, a Pota is a gnome-like animal that burrows itself underground like a mole. It's never more than two feet tall and it's right foot is always as long as the Pota is tall. The left foot is half that length. It stands on it's hind legs like humans. Potaes can not understand human language, instead communicating with "Trolololololololo! Trololo! Trololololo!" noises. Their enemy in the animal kingdom is Dugtrio. Dugtrio is the main cause for the Pota species' loss of toes.
Warning: Potaes are usually very gentle beings, but once above ground they become killing machines. Immediately run away at top speed if you ever see one, or it will be the last thing you ever see.
