THE next day, Paige knew she needed to avoid Clark Kent at all costs. She didn't want to risk him knowing more about him than planned. She couldn't afford for another move and she knew she had to get him to keep quiet about it. The next best thing she could do was avoid him.
And she managed to do that the entire day. The only thing lingering from Clark Kent himself were his consistent stares. Like he wanted to go up to her and talk to her but he didn't want to scare her.
Paige had quickly and hurried walked down the street so as Clark couldn't get any ideas to approach her. But that plan soon failed when she heard her name being called just a few feet away.
"Paige!" The girl turned around and spotted Clark, rushing towards her. She quickly tries to run away and when she thinks she's lost him on her street, he's just right behind her, calling her name. "You can keep walking away, I'm still behind you."
"Stay away from me!" Paige shouted, turning towards him for a second. "Paige, I know what I saw yesterday." The boy says as he follows behind her. "No, you don't! You didn't see anything! Go away!" Paige shouts as she tries to dodge him.
"Paige, please. Can we just talk?" Clark asks and Paige turns around to face the boy once and for all.
Clark almost walked into her when she suddenly turned. Paige looks at him and realizes just how tall he is as she looks up at him as he backs away.
"Look, what you saw yesterday in class, you didn't actually see. Your mind was... playing tricks on you. So, thanks, but no thanks. Have a good one." With that, Paige begins to walk away.
"Paige," Clark tries again but the girl continues to walk away. "You're not the only one with abilities." He spoke and Paige stopped in her tracks suddenly. And turns her head for a second before turning fully at the boy.
Paige eyes the boy, keeping his distance from the girl as he knows she's keeping her guard up. She looks at him, feeling like she's seen him before. And then it clicks.
As Derek continues to drive, he surprisingly comes to a sudden halt when someone runs out in front of the truck and falls to the ground at the sudden impact. Derek hops out of the car and sees that he's hit a teenage boy, who is quick to stand on his feet. "Kid, I'm sorry, are you okay?" Derek asks. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." The kid assured and Derek furrows his brows. "You don't even have a scratch on you. Are you sure you're okay?" The boy looks at the girl in the truck before turning back to Derek. "Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry." With that, the kid runs off and Derek furrows his brows as he tries to go and follow him.
