"WAIT, so who's Ryan?" Paige asked as her and Clark walked down the hall with Pete beside them. Clark had told them about this conspicuous phone call he'd gotten from a boy that Clark had come across over a year ago.
Martha had accidentally ran the kid over and they gave him some refuge until he was off to live with his aunt. Turns out, the boy had telekineses and could read minds and he called Clark just the other day, in a panicked state and telling him that he's at an institution called Summerholt where there are doctors running experiments on him.
Clark had explained to her who he was as they walked down to the Torch office. "I just keep thinking I missed something. Some clue in his email, some sign that things weren't okay. I guess I just wasn't listening." Clark sighed.
"You can't blame yourself for this, Clark." Paige told. "Yeah, Paige is right," Pete nodded in agreement. "I know Ryan means a lot to you, Clark, but you gotta cut yourself some slack. Second-guessing isn't gonna help."
They had walked in the office, greeting with Chloe. "Hey, um, remember that really cute guy, Heinrich who works at the phone company?" She asked. "Yeah, you mean the Hungarian one with the toy scooter?" Pete asks, putting on a funny voice and Paige rolls her eyes as Chloe replies, "He's Austrian and it's a Classic Vespa, but anyway, he was able to trace Ryan's call back to its point of origin." She informed.
"You found something." Clark said, hopeful his hypothesis was correct. She hands a paper to Clark. "Summerholt Neurological Institute. But it's not in Edge City, it's in Metropolis." "Well, that explains why we couldn't find it." Clark stated. "Yeah, but the weird thing is that Summerholt is strictly a research facility. They don't even take patients. And if they did, why would Ryan be in lockdown in a place that specializes in super-esoteric brain research?"
Clark doesn't answer and looks at Paige and they know they have their work cut out for them if they're going to attempt to break him out.
In which, Paige and Clark both decide to go down there to do just that. Of course, Clark used his super-speed going down there and Paige knew Clark was determined on saving Ryan.
They both arrived at the institute and immediately began questioning the receptionist where Ryan was. "His name is Ryan James." Clark informed. "I told you. We have no one here by that name." The receptionist said. "Check again. We know he's here." Clark told.
