“Are you done packing yet?” I let myself fall onto my bed, the phone in my hand.

“I think I am” As evidence my boyfriend turned his camera around to show me three fully packed suitcases.

“Wow,” I chuckled, “are you planning to move in, here?”

“You wish.” He winked at me, through the camera, causing my cheeks to turn a shade of pink. I did. I really wished he would just stay here and he knew it, of course he did. We’ve been in a long-distance relationship for way too long. Both of us were sick of it at this point.

The more time passed, the quieter our conversation went. Chan lay in his bed as well, his eyes now closed. He looked calm and relaxed. I could spend hours watching him like this. Even though I would prefer not to have a screen between us.

“Chris,” he hummed in response, keeping his eyes closed. “Go to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be exhausting.”

“It'll be fine, I can sleep on the plane,” he mumbled, half asleep. His curly hair fell into his eyes. It was embarrassing how much I wished I could reach through the phone to brush it aside.

He opened his eyes after I hadn't answered him for a moment. I, on the other hand, was busy glaring at him. “The last time, you did in fact not sleep during the 10 hours you were on the plane, but afterwards, for half a day.” A chuckle escaped his mouth.

“Okay okay, I'll go to sleep.”

I grinned, satisfied. “Text me when you’re on the plane tomorrow.” His eyes rested on me for a couple more seconds.

“Yes, I will. Good night, Y/n. I love you.” Chan said eventually and hung up the call.

”I love you too.” I let my phone fall on the mattress of my bed. How was I supposed to sleep now? My boyfriend, whom I hadn’t seen in person for four months, was going to visit. He would stay here for a good three weeks. Which was a long time but at the same time it wasn’t.

Chan‘s pov:
The screen of my phone next to me lit up. It was a new message.

Y/n
Can’t wait for tomorrow!! Good night <3

I couldn’t do anything against the warm feeling spreading inside me. How did she expect me to fall asleep now? I had been totally restless the entire day at work already. I was nervous, but it was a good kind of nervous. I couldn’t wait to get on that plane, fly to Australia and have her in my arms again.

Glancing at the time on my display, I let out a groan. I would have to get up in five hours.

The focus of my eyes shifted to my Lock Screen. It was a picture of Y/n and me. We took it a few years back, two or three days before I left for Korea. Oh, the things I would do to turn back time.

Y/n’s pov:
Frustrated, I glanced at the clock on the wall. Not only did I have to take over an extra shift today, but now I wouldn't even be able to pick Chan up from the airport. Let’s just say I was not in the best mood.

”Y/n, am I paying you for just standing there?” My boss called me out. I forced a smile on my face.

"Absolutely not, sir," I managed to say through clenched teeth as I picked up the empty plates from the table and placed them on my tray. After he disappeared into the back of the restaurant, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my frustration. I was counting the days until I could leave this job for good.

I started working here four years ago while studying at university, thinking it would just be a temporary way to earn some extra money. Little did I know that I would end up staying here for this long.

Over the remaining time of my shift, I stole a few glances at my phone, hoping for an update from Chan. However, besides some memes he sent me, there was no new information.

Chan’s pov:
I would never be able to describe the feeling, when taking the first step out of the airport, in Australia. The slightest bit of a breeze hit me, yet it was by far not enough to keep up against the heat from the sun.

I was home. Well, almost. Y/n had parked her car here for me, so I could use it to get to her place. She had a small white Toyota, which had already passed its best years. To be honest it was a wonder that it was still driving.

I put my luggage into the trunk. The time on my phone told me that I had around thirty minutes until Y/n’s shift would end. Just enough time to reach the restaurant.

The drive went by quickly and in no time I found myself parking the car in front of my girlfriend's workplace. At the sight of the building, a wave of nostalgia washed over me. This place held so many memories from our high school days. We always used to come here with our friends after finishing important exams.

I didn't even notice the smile that slowly crept onto my face. My gaze continued to wander over the facade of the restaurant, settling on the ground-level window. My eyes instantly spotted Y/n. She was still inside, giving an old man a death glare, whom I assumed to be her boss.

My heart skipped a beat at the sight of her, just as it always did. Her long black hair was pulled back in a ponytail. I had no idea how she managed to make even the restaurant's uniform look good on her.

I opened the car’s door, stepping outside. The air conditioning in Y/n's car wasn't working, creating an immense heat inside. The temperatures outside were nothing in contrast to the ones in there.

It wasn't long until the restaurant’s door opened, revealing my girlfriend. Her gaze was fixated on her phone, as she unknowingly walked in my direction. When she finally lifted up her head a multitude of emotions went over her face.

“Chris!” Y/n exclaimed. Not even three seconds later she threw her arms around me. I stumbled a few steps back, but as soon as I found my balance again I returned the hug. It felt so right to finally have her in my arms again.

“Hey,” she broke the hug, just enough to look into my eyes. “Oh gosh, I missed you so much. I don’t think I’ll let you leave again.” I felt her head on my chest once more and couldn't help but chuckle

"I missed you so goddamn much" I said before placing my lips on hers. Y/n didn't hesitate to deepen it. And for a moment it felt like it was just the two of us, everything else was secondary. Now, I was home.
