Part 1

"I have a girlfriend." Ling said it unannounced in her perky smile.

She did it while her whole family is in the dinner table. Their parents look at each other and gulp. Ying just shake her heard and look at her twin.

Like seriously? Right now?

The sound of slow utensil drop from both of the parents can be heard. The usual happy chatter in the table becomes silent.

"Her name is Sarocha and I bet you will all like her." Ling added that makes Ying chuckle.

Ying have this weird impulse to laugh at very serious situation like this one. She just cannot help it.

"Did you just said girlfriend?" Lan, their Dad asked.

"Yes, Dad."

Ying close her eyes and for a moment. She is ready to protect Ling at this point.

Stupid twin! 😩

Ying reminisce of the time she came out, or rather been forced to come out to her parents. In their senior year, she got caught dating a tomboy and all she could remember is her Mom shouting and her Dad threatening her to be cut off in the family if she continue on being 'inappropriate'.

She expect it to be a full blown drama like before and she is ready to protect her twin but nothing came so she finally open her eyes.

She look at her Mom and Dad, their parents doesn't look angry at all. They are rather soft and smiling.

"I think... I think that would be fine, right? Just when can we meet her?" Lan said looking at his wife.

"Yes, yes. I think that should be fine. Invite her in one of our Sunday dinner." Yana said.

The parents both look at Ling lovingly.

Ling smile and got up  from her seat to hug them.

"Thank you, Mom and Dad."

Wait... this is unfair!

She wants to voice out but nothing came out to her mouth. There are rambling conflicting thoughts in her mind right now and she is starting to build resentment and anger in her heart.

Lan notice Ying silence and decided to speak about it. The guilt is creeping in to his heart.

"Ying..." Lan called out.

Now everyone in the room look at Ying. All attention is on her and she can see the change of their faces from being happy to complete silence too as they slowly realize the confused look of Ying.

What the fuck just happened?

"It's different time now. You and your sister are adult now. You are both professional. You can choose who you love." Lan said in attempt to explain their side.

All the fear and pain she dealt before for loving the same gender. Now that Ling came out, it suddenly 'all fine'.

What a great plot twist of all time! 🤡

"I can choose who to love?" Ying look at her Dad, she asked this to mock them. Her hands are shaking so she clamp her fist to control her emotion. "How? How can I actually choose if you threaten my life and future before?"
