Author POV

Her breath caught in her throat, her heart hammering wildly in her chest as she stared in disbelief at the figure before her.

The sight was almost too much to process Asher Volkov, the man who seemed so untouchable, on his knees.

She blinked rapidly, wondering if her eyes were playing tricks on her. But no, this was real, as real as the ring he held delicately in his trembling hand. He was doing all this for..... her.

"Wh-what are you doing?" she stammered, fighting to calm the chaotic rhythm of her heart.

Asher took a deep breath, his gaze locking with hers, filled with a depth she had never seen before.

"I've thought about this moment for so long, and now that I'm standing here, I realize there's no perfect way to say this. It's messy, like me, but that's real. You're not just someone I think about when it's convenient. You're there, in every part of my day, even when you're not. I can't stop thinking about you, and it's driving me crazy in the best possible way.

"I've been afraid to say it out loud because once I do, there's no going back. But I need you to know... it's you. It's always been you. I don't just want you-I need you. I'm not here for a fleeting moment or some shallow fling. I'm here because every part of me is drawn to you, like it's been waiting for you my entire life. It's more than attraction, it's more than just a connection-it's like you're a part of me.

"I know I'm not perfect, and I'll mess up sometimes, but I'll always be here, trying to be better. Trying to be someone worthy of you. I can't imagine a life without you in it, and I don't want to try. So, I'm standing here, giving you everything, hoping you'll feel even a fraction of what I feel for you.

"If you let me, I'll love you like you've never been loved before. Honestly, imperfectly, but with everything I have. That's my promise.

Will you be mine, Ms. Rajput?"

His voice was steady, but she could see the fear lurking in his beautiful blue eyes-the fear of rejection, of losing her.

The silence that followed was deafening, his heart clenching as he awaited her response. But Samaira, still in shock, couldn't form any words.

This couldn't be real, could it? This must be a dream, she thought. There's no way a man like him could have feelings for someone like me.

"Ms. Rajput?" His gentle voice cut through her reverie, pulling her back to reality.

"Are you okay?" His concern was evident, making her heart ache even more.

"Are you joking with me?" she asked, her laughter forced and hollow as she avoided his gaze, too afraid to see the truth in his eyes.

He stood up, closing the distance between them. His hand was warm as it gently tilted her chin, guiding her to meet his gaze.

"Do I look like I'm joking? Look in my eyes and say the same thing."
