Samaira's excitement reached new heights; today was the day she would finally see Asher again.
The week without him had felt like an eternity. Her happiness was palpable as she sat in her office, knowing that soon they would be reunited at the hotel.
As the hours passed, she left the office and headed straight to the hotel, her heart pounding with anticipation.
When she arrived and knocked on the door, Asher opened it—half-dressed, fresh from a shower, his bare torso still glistening with moisture.
Samaira froze, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. She instinctively lowered her gaze, feeling shy in front of him like a teenager experiencing love for the first time.
Asher chuckled softly, stepping forward and pulling her into his arms. He held her tightly, burying his face in her hair and breathing her in. His scent was a mix of soap and the lingering freshness of his shower, making her melt in his embrace.
Samaira felt a wave of emotion rising within her, and her eyes moistened with unshed tears.
“I missed you so much,” she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion.
Asher pulled back just enough to look into her eyes.
His thumb gently wiped away the single tear that had escaped down her cheek. "I missed you more," he said softly, his voice filled with sincerity.
"But now, I promise you won’t ever have to miss me again. I'm going to make sure of that. From now on, you’re staying with me, forever."
The promise in his words sent a shiver down Samaira’s spine.
She smiled, the sadness of their separation fading, replaced with hope for the future.
They spent the next few hours together, laughing and enjoying a late lunch.
After the meal, Asher leaned in, his expression serious but tender. "I have something important to talk to you about," he said.
Samaira felt her heart skip a beat, wondering what he was about to say.
"I want to meet your family," he continued, "and ask for your hand in marriage."
Her heart swelled with joy at his words, and a shy smile crept onto her face. She hesitated, asking nervously, “When do you want to meet them?”
“Tomorrow,” he replied, without a second thought.
Samaira's mind raced. She was thrilled but anxious at the same time.
"I’ll talk to them tonight and call you," she said, her voice filled with both excitement and uncertainty.
Asher kissed her forehead, and they parted ways. Though she didn’t want to leave, she had to go home and face the next challenge: telling her family.
When she arrived home, it was already dinner time. She freshened up and joined her family at the dining table.
Her mother served dinner while her father and brother were already seated. Samaira took her seat, but her mind was elsewhere, lost in thoughts of Asher.
