As the sun rose, another day began.

Fu Weilen woke up at 5 a.m., did some light exercise, and went to queue at the state-run restaurant to buy steamed buns.

When he returned home, he found the siblings Fu Xiao and Fu Yue just getting up. "Wake up, get ready, and come have some buns."

The large steamed buns were filled with a generous amount of pork, mixed with fat and lean meat, making them very fragrant. Paired with a simple egg drop soup, the meal was satisfying.

After breakfast, Fu Weilen left in a hurry again. Fu Xiao knew he was busy with the relocation of the grave.

Seeing him so busy and tired, she thought, "It really seems complicated."

The thought of burning a body and handling ashes was something Fu Xiao didn't dare to mention. If she did, Fu Weilen might be shocked.

In modern times, it's quite easy, since burning leaves only ashes. But in this era, no one would want their loved ones cremated; people believe in burial for peace and returning to the roots.

Fu Xiao packed up everything in the house. The new clothes for her grandparents had already been burned during the funeral, leaving only old clothes, which she packed into a large bundle to be mailed back to her hometown.

The rest would be taken to the recycling station in the afternoon.

Some old furniture had been stored away, and the house was now left with only simple wooden furniture. It was better to leave it for the community office to maintain a good impression. After all, they couldn't just leave an empty house.

The kitchen items, simple utensils, were left behind.

She also found her grandfather's medical books and pulse records.

At this moment, Fu Yue came over after inspecting each room. "Sister, these books can't be left here."

He pulled out a few books and flipped through them, all of which were traditional Chinese medicine books. Fu Xiao realized that traditional medicine was quite risky in this era.

"Brother, don't worry. I've looked through these books. We'll take them to the recycling station later."

"Xiao Xiao, if you're reluctant to part with them, I can help you hide them..."

"No need, Big Brother," Fu Xiao waved her hand. She wasn't really planning to throw them away.

Seeing her expression, Fu Yue didn't insist and continued to clean up.

She placed the medical books in a small box, planning to discreetly store them away when no one was watching.

After tidying up for a long time, the house was packed up, leaving two bundles to be taken to the recycling station.

The blankets were nearly new, and there were several clothes. She packed a large bundle that was difficult to carry on the train, so she decided to mail it through the post office.

By the time everything was sorted, it was almost noon.

"Brother, are you hungry?"

"Let's go. We'll mail the packages and then have lunch at the state-run restaurant." The young man put down his cup after drinking some water and placed the bundles on the cart.

At home, they had a small wooden cart to carry the packages to the recycling station.

"Should we wait for Uncle?"

Fu Yue pulled the cart forward. "No need to wait. We don't know when he'll be done."

Fu Xiao quickly followed, pushing the cart from behind.
