Abhinandan POV

The visuals of Trisha's birth woke me up suddenly with a jerk. My heartbeats raced, and I immediately looked at her. She was sleeping peacefully with her hand on both the babies.

In the middle of the chilly night, I felt the sweat breaking on my forehead.

Inhaling a deep breath, I moved away silently and stepped down from the bed. I kept my feet light so as not to wake any of them up.

Parting the curtains, I silently stepped down the stairs and reached the table for a glass of water.

Suddenly, I heard the light sound of the baby's coo.

I immediately turned back.

No, she slept after a great deal of difficulty.

When he cooed again, I quickly placed the glass down and walked towards the bed.

The babies were three weeks older now. And slowly turning into their womb self. Naughty.

Parting the curtains, I immediately smiled, noticing both of them awake.

They did not cry.

"What happened?" I asked in a low and cute voice, slowly approaching closer.

"Have you noticed me leaving you?" I asked as I lay beside them. They tried to pull their hands out of the tugged blanket, and I gently patted them.

Suddenly, Trisha inhaled deeply in her sleep, and my eyes widened with fear.

I did not want her to wake up. She was hardly sleeping.

"Uhhuh," the baby cooed again when I turned my gaze back to him. He calmed down and smiled.

Their smile was beautiful.

"Want to come to my chest?" I asked in a low voice, and they began to move their feet and hands even faster.

I smiled and slowly moved them to my chest. Their umbilical cord had fallen off a few days ago. I placed them on their stomachs on my chest, and as soon as my naked body began to feel warm to them, they calmed down.

I covered them with the blankets and gently began to caress their tiny backs.

I just could not stop myself from kissing their tiny heads.

After meeting Trisha, I never thought that I would be able to love someone more than her. Not exactly more than her, but yes, a lot.

There were different kinds of love for them.

The babies went to sleep within a few moments. Apart from being naughty, they were heavy sleepers.

They had only three things to do.

Drink their mother's milk.

Poop

And sleep.

I did not know if they knew me or not. People say that babies cannot even see clearly for nearly a month. That meant they only knew my voice and touch.

Still, they knew me enough.

With a smile on my lips, I put them silently carefully in their places to let them sleep. And, looked at my life.

Her face had turned slightly pale, and her lips had lost their tint, so I immediately moved my hand closer to her cheek.

She was cold.

She was having feverish chills.

She weakened a lot after childbirth, and this approaching winter was making it more difficult.
